    DAVENPORT—The Lincoln County Commissioners held a regular benefits check-in with representatives amongst county employees and Dan Fisher of HUB International, the county’s medical insurance broker, at the commissioners’ meeting Monday, March 7. Fisher told attendees that employee claims rose from $43,816.02 to $84,971.15 between January and February this year, which is typical.     DAVENPORT—Presiding judge Dan B. Johnson denied a motion for an appeal bond by the defense of Brandy J. Hood at a hearing Tuesday, March 8. Hood was sentenced to 43 months in prison Feb. 22 after a jury found her guilty on four counts of fourth-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and one count of harassment with the threat to kill stemming from incidents involving mistreatment of Hood's two daughters in Jan. 2020.     DAVENPORT—The school board here held a special meeting to approve a $523,919 federal grant from the United States Department of Agriculture that the district won in a shared application with Lind, Hatton and Ritzville.     OLYMPIA—Washington’s indoor mask mandate, which was originally scheduled to end March 21, will now be over at 11:59 p.m. March 11. Gov. Jay Inslee announced the change to the mandate’s end at a press conference Monday, Feb. 28. The move comes in a joint West Coast masking move-on, as Oregon and California will be ending most of their indoor mandates in a similar midnight masquerade.
