    MEDICAL LAKE – Carl Grub, lifelong resident, philanthropist and advocate for area youth, died in the Gray Fire Friday, Aug. 18. He was 86 years old. Grub was born in Medical Lake in 1937.     GRAND COULEE — A vacant home and five other smaller structures burned in a roughly 150-acre fire at 5897 Spring Canyon Road Friday, Aug. 18. According to reports from the Wilbur Register, Lincoln County Fire District No. 9 commissioner Ron Rosenburg spotted the fire at a vacant home around 11:45 a.m. Two trailers and three small wooden outbuildings were reportedly lost in the fire.
