Letter to the Editor: Growth of U.S. national debt worrisome to letter writer

To the Editor:

We have a government that is spending 188 million dollars per hour – money which they have to borrow, and now they want to raise the debt limit so they can spend more. If this keeps up, we won’t have to worry that the Republicans' budget will get rid of Medicare like some of the left-wing fear-mongers are predicting, because there will be no Medicare or health care for anyone. We are 14 trillion dollars in debt, and this administration wants to spend more. The question that should be asked and is being asked is, “Is it being done on purpose, or are these idiots just too stupid to see that what they are doing will destroy this country?” The leftist media, who sold their soul to the devil to get this President elected, now spend all their time looking through their belly button, trying to defend him. I don’t know who said the following but it is so true.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.”
