First cross-state bus passed through 90 years ago

Bus service has come and gone in Odessa.

When the North Central Highway was paved in 1927, the Washington Motor Coach System started service over part of the route, with a bus between Soap Lake and Spokane via Odessa and Harrington.

In 1929, cross-state service through Odessa by way of either Ellensburg or Wenatchee was begun.

Eventually, Washington Motor Coach was absorbed by Greyhound Lines, which continued to operate two daily buses in each direction between Spokane and Settle until 1983, when service to all points between Spokane and Ephrata was dropped, leaving Odessa without public trans...
