Ritzville Community Theatre to be at Opera House April 21

The Ritzville Community Theatre (RCT) will reprise their December 2011 production as a fundraiser for the Harrington Opera House this Saturday, April 21 at 7:00 pm.

Three In A Row---A Game Show was written by Miles Athey and Harry Schafer of Ritzville. Harry is also the director. It is an audience-participation take-off of the old TV show Hollywood Squares. Seven "stars" in squares are lined up in a row. The M.C. and the hostess select two participants from the audience. The participants select a "star" and the "star" is asked a question by the M.C. The "star" either gives the correct answer or an incorrect "bluff" answer. The participant must decide if the answer is true or false and win the square if correct. The first participant to win three squares in a row or four squares is the winner of the round.

Individuals and businesses from several communities have generously donated prizes for the contestants including a nice collection of kitchen & food items from Ritzville Drug, a Gift Card from the Grange Supply of Odessa, 18 holes of golf for two from the Harrington Golf & Country Club, and more prizes from the Sa.Hair.a Salon in Ritzville, Davenport Building Supply Garden Center, Odessa Drug Store, Good Neighbor Pharmacy in Davenport, and the Harrington Opera House. Refreshments will be served and tickets are only $10 available at the door and in advance from Ritzville Drug, Harrington Foods, the Odessa Record, Odessa Drug, AmericanWest Bank in Davenport, or by calling 509-253-4715.

Other upcoming events at the Harrington Opera House include: A Quilt Show by Harrington's Stitchin' Chicks on Saturday, April 28th as part of Harrington's Community Day, two recitals by area piano students - one at 7:00 pm on of April 28th and the other at 3:00 pm on May 5th, and a Spring Concert by the Coulee Community Choir at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 29th. These events are open to all by donation.

Proceeds from events go towards the rehabilitation efforts for the historic 1904 Harrington Opera House and Bank Block Building. Projects currently in the planning stages include an elevator (the auditorium is on the 2nd floor); stage lighting & curtain; insulation and acoustical ceiling in the Art Room/Meeting Room, and continued work on other refurbishments. The Harrington Opera House Society would also like to bring in "Arts" workshops and presentations of interest to area residents and visitors.
