Tennis

Wilbur/Creston, April 24

In tennis, the Titans defeated Wilbur/Creston April 24 by a score of 5-0 in a match played at Wilbur.

In first girls singles (1GS), Cydnee Kieffer defeated Fawn Nolt 6-0,6-0. Kaeli Shockley defeated Corrine Dalhaus 6-3,6-3 in #2 girls singles (2GS). The #3 girls singles match (3GS) saw Laura Kinny defeat Rebecca Gollehon 6-3,6-4.

In #1 girls doubles (1GD), Mayumi Matsuzoe and Pilly Pap defeated Ashley Potts and Aubrey Houger 4-6, 7-6, 6-1, and in #3 girls doubles (3GD), Davy Minaker and Dada Melislova defeated Moriah Rocker and Audrea Billota 6-3,6-4.

Baseball

Wellpinit, April 24

On Tuesday, April 24, the Titans overpowered Wellpinit at home in Odessa, winning both games of the double header, allowing only one run in each game. The score was 16-1 in game one.

Jared King was the starting pitcher and got the win. Markus Smith came in as a reliever in the third inning. Stetson Sanford was the catcher. Offensive leaders for the Titans were Sanford, Justin Hunt, Cade Weber, Smith and Sam Schafer, all with doubles. Smith also added a triple.

In game 2, the Titans did even better, pounding out 18 runs to Wellpinit’s one.

Hunt was the starting pitcher for game 2, relieved by Weber in the third, who was relieved in turn by Brett Larmer in the fourth. Sanford was catcher, relieved by Shafer in the second. Smith, Weber and Nick Tebow belted out doubles, while King and Weber each got a triple.

Northport, April 28

The Titans split their double-header against Northport.

King and Sanford made up the battery for game one. Smith had a double to pace the Titans.

Hunt and Sanford made up the game-two battery. Smith and Hunt each got a double. The Titan offense was also helped out by the eight errors on the part of Northport.

A District 7 league meet was held Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Lakeside HS (hosted by Reardan) in Nine Mile Falls. Team scores:

For the O-H boys, Garrett Braun was 15th in the 100 meters in a time of 12.77 and 12th in the 200 meters in 27.11.

In the 1600 meters, Jacob Dewulf took 7th in 5:34.15 and Ryan Greenwalt 9th in 5:37.33.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Austin Schmierer was 10th in 48.92.

The 4x400 relay team of Jacob Dewulf, Ryan Greenwalt, Austin Schmierer and Tyler Paris was 7th in 4:11.23.

In the javelin, Jacob Dewulf was 8th with a throw of 107’00”, Ryan Greenwalt 16th with 98’07” and Garret Braun 18th with 96’06”.

In the pole vault, Austin Schmierer took 9th at 8’06”.

For the Titan girls, the 100-meter race had Jordyn Tanke coming in 4th in 13.76 and Carley Williams 12th in 14.87.

In the 200 meters, Tanke was 3rd in 29.00 and Williams 10th in 31.61.

Melani Fehrer was 5th in the 400 meters in 1:16.69.

In the 4x100 relay, the team of Koralynne Kuch, Jordyn Tanke, Carley Williams and Hannah Schmidt came in 2nd at 55.19.

In the shot put, Chelsea Fisher was 7th with a heave of 27’10.00” and Melani Fehrer 14th with 23’00.00”.

In the javelin, Fisher was 5th with a toss of 74’07” and Melani Fehrer 13th with 49’09”.

In the long jump, Schmidt was 3rd with 13’02.00”, Kuch 7th with 12’08.50” and Williams 11th with 11’10.00”.

In the triple jump, Kuch took first place with a leap of 29’05.00”, Fisher 6th with 26’10.00” and Schmidt 9th with 26’08.00”.
