INCIDENT LOG

Editor's note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Aug. 27: A railroad crossing malfunction was reported at the Mondovi crossing.

A broken window was discovered at the Davenport city pound at Eleventh and Ross streets. A juvenile boy was identified as a possible suspect.

A Harrington establishment reported that beer had been consumed but payment of $10 wasn't made.

Deputies responded to a Davenport residence where a juvenile was described as "out of control."

A moped crashed into a ditch on the old Sunset Highway, but its operator escaped uninjured.

National Park Service personnel assisted a man whose watercraft had run out of gas on the Columbia River near Two Rivers Resort.

Aug. 28: Dispatchers were advised that 4-wheelers had torn up the roadway on Airway Drive and Desert roads outside Odessa.

A tractor owner reported that a key had been broken off while it was parked in a field on Hurden Road about a mile north of Weber Road. Beer cans were scattered in the vicinity and the oil drip line to an irrigation pump had been turned off.

Wilbur Police took a report that a big box truck was "all over the roadway" on SR 174.

Odessa Police responded to a call from a woman who reported finding a marijuana pipe inside her residence on East Second Avenue.

Aug. 29: Odessa ambulance personnel assisted a woman in her 70s who had fallen in her yard on South Fifth Street.

A vehicle and a home-built mini-bike were reportedly racing through Harrington.

Deputies investigated a report of damage to motion sensors on the roof of a Morgan Street business in Davenport, concluding that natural causes were responsible, rather than an intruder.

A Grand Coulee woman reported an incident of identity theft involving a credit card.

Emergency personnel assisted an adult male who had complained of chest pains while at the Telford rest area on SR 2 west of Davenport.

A caller reported that despite "no trespassing" signage, people are cutting through private property at the end of Forks View Drive to access Antler Drive in Deer Meadows.

A vehicle parked at a Morgan Street business in Davenport was reportedly backed into by another.

An Almira man told dispatchers that someone loosened all the lug nuts on his vehicle.

Grand Coulee area emergency personnel responded to a woman's apparent accidental drug overdose.

Wilbur Police investigated possible vandalism to a pickup truck parked on SE Railroad Avenue.

Aug. 30: A collision involving a vehicle and deer was reported on SR 28 about halfway between Davenport and Harrington.

A Hawk Creek Canyon resident reported his cattle had been attacked by dogs.

If tracks are an indication, it appears someone took several runs at it before knocking down a county road sign at Haden and Haden Farm roads.

A motorist traveling on Devils Gap Road about a mile east of SR 231 reported someone had thrown rocks and other debris at traffic. Deputies took two boys into custody and transported them to the Martin Hall juvenile facility in Medical Lake.

Deputies responded to the Lincoln boat launch after receiving a report of a possible assault involving a man and his 16-year-old son, but were unable to locate anyone.

Odessa Police investigated a narcotics-related incident at an unidentified location.

Reardan Police responded to a report of narcotics stolen from an East Railroad Avenue residence.

Aug. 31: A caller advised he had to pull over to the shoulder on SR 231 at the top of the canyon north of Reardan to get out of the way of two vehicles driven by high school students in what he described as a reckless manner and at high speeds.

A caller reported semi-trucks were traveling at high speeds and in the opposite lane on SR 231 between Edwall and Sprague, causing motorists to have to pull off the roadway.

Davenport firefighters were sent to a fire believed caused by a flat tire on a boat trailer on SR 2.

A man reported he had been punched in the face at a residence on North Aspen in Reardan.

A Davenport woman told dispatchers that her children had received death threats.

Deputies responded to a domestic assault involving four individuals (three women and a man) at a residence on North First Street in Harrington.

Wilbur Police investigated a narcotics incident. Elsewhere, at a business on Front Street, three juveniles were observed trespassing.

Odessa Police advised a juvenile that he would be cited for trespassing if he returned to a woman's property on South Alder.

Reardan Police were involved in pursuing a vehicle between Reardan and Medical Lake when its driver refused to stop for a speeding violation.

Sept. 1: A motorcyclist apparently escaped injury after his bike went off Miles Creston Road about five miles from SR 2 and into a ditch.

A caller said someone shot four times over his head while he was at Old Moore Lane in Creston.

Fishtrap Resort was evacuated for a time while firefighters dealt with a blaze believed started by gunfire on Bureau of Land Management land near Brown Road and Sprague Highway.

Deputies in Davenport stopped a vehicle from which cigarette butts had been thrown while it was westbound from Reardan on SR 2.

National Park Service personnel responded to a boat with three aboard that ran out of fuel in the Keller Ferry area.

Sept. 2: National Park Service officers handled a controlled substance possession incident at the Fort Spokane campground and a possible illegal bonfire in the Seven Bays area.

Deputies investigated a theft report from an unspecified Davenport location.

Deputies were advised of possible trespassing on the railroad right-of-way near the Sprague Highway-Williams Lake Road crossing.

Alcohol is believed involved in a domestic assault incident involving a Grand Coulee family.

A deputy advised two junior high-aged skateboarders that the Davenport skate park would be a better place for their activity than crossing into traffic on Morgan Street near Gunning Road.

Lincoln Hospital treated a man who had been bitten on the hand at a Creston residence.

A Davenport man told dispatchers that he needed a deputy to deal with kids who remained in the local skate park until after dark.

Lincoln Hospital personnel requested assistance with two patients who had been asked to leave after seeking drugs and being uncooperative.
