The "Schwan man" retires

Retired, but not forgotten! It’s a secret, but we can be sneaky and post this invitation while Lowell Jay, the faithful Schwan man, is traveling out of state.

Folks in Almira have banded together to throw a retirement party for Jay on Saturday, December 8, at the Almira Community Center, at 1 p.m. There will be a potluck luncheon, so everyone is asked to bring a dish to share. Dessert will be provided.

A VISA gift card basket will be set up at the party, and anyone who wants to participate can contribute to this gift card that will be presented to Lowell after the party. Payment can be made in cash or via a check made out to Bonny Cochran.

Cochran says she is hoping to give Lowell Jay a grand celebration for his many years of service to the small towns of our area.

She also asks that people bring some fun stories to tell, as his former customers “cheer” him on to his well-deserved retirement.

Call Bonny at 639-2216 or Donna at 647-1126 for additional information.
