Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!

4-H Education Day to be held in Ralston March 9

At the Ralston Grange Hall, on Saturday, March 9, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., presentations will be held for all 4-H youth, parents and leaders in Adams County. An invitation to participate has also been extended to 4-H groups in Lincoln County. All participants are asked to bring a sack lunch.

There will be three presentations in the morning. The first one is called “Public Presentations – Oh My!” Tips on making public presentations will be offered.

The second is called “Judging is Decision-Making!” This one will teach how to prepare for judging and choose the order of the winners.

There is also a presentation on “Record Keeping.” This one will teach how and what to keep track of during the year.

A child-protection training video for leaders will be shown during lunch. Completion of this training is now required by WSU for all faculty, staff and volunteers working with youth.

In the afternoon, from 1 to 2 p.m., there will be a presentation called “Be Aware – Prepare for Fair!” which will give tips on preparing animals for the fair and doing well there.

The days’ activities are being sponsored by the Adams County 4-H Leaders’ Council and presented by Adams County 4-H leaders and members. For further information, call Carla Jerue at 509-235-8334.
