Floch family to visit Odessa

Clay and Jewel Floch, with daughter Elizabeth, will be in Odessa on Sunday, March 10 at Heritage Church. They will be sharing during the worship service at 10:30 a.m., and then an open house is planned from 2 to 5 p.m. in the church basement. It will be a time of fellowship with a program early in the afternoon to update us on their work in China.

Clay and Jewel are former Odessa residents who owned and operated the Napa Store. They moved back to Spokane in 2004 after a boating accident in 2001 took the lives of their two sons, Ryan and Drew.

Sensing God's call to do kingdom work, their first thought was: "We can serve at an orphanage!," as they prepared to take their first short-term trip to China in June 2008. They had no idea how that journey would change their lives forever. Exactly one year later, the Floch's found themselves back in China, prepared to stay indefinitely. During their initial visit they'd been powerfully moved and sensed a calling to come and care for the children of China. When the opportunity arose to serve, they were ready. They are both excited to be a part of loving and caring for the incredible children of China, and to see broken lives being redeemed every day. The precious Chinese orphans who have been abused, abandoned or given away remind all of us that everyone comes broken and needs to be redeemed.

After just over two years serving at Shepherd’s Field southeast of Beijing, they have moved to Agape Family Life House in Langfang to serve as house directors.

The community is invited to come and share in their newest joy, Elizabeth, and hear what God is doing with their lives. A website is available for those wishing further information: http://www.agapeflh.org.
