Titan boys lose heartbreaker to Pomeroy HS; season ends

The basketball season ended for the Odessa-Harrington Titans on Saturday, February 23, with a loss in the regional playoff round of the state tournament. The loser-out game was Pomeroy 60, O-H 52.

Pomeroy’s team, boasting an overall 18-7 record, with a league record of 11-5, was well-matched with the Titan squad’s overall record of 16-8 and league record of 7-3.

The 4 p.m. game at Walla Walla High School saw the two teams battle to a tie at the end of the first quarter of play. At the half-time break, Pomeroy led by only 3.

The third quarter, as it has so often earlier in the year, spelled doom for the Titans as they were outscored 14-8. They came back strong in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough, and Pomeroy will go on to the Spokane tournament.
