Letter to the Editor: Budget woes, treatment of vets make reader unhappy

For shame, President Obama! The Veteran’s Administration has been serving veterans for many decades. There have been problems, as there are with any large department. They had a budget of $140 billion for 2012, even though you and the Senate haven’t produced a budget (required by law) for almost four years. Oh well, by now many of us know how you feel about laws and rules.

You and your staff can’t possibly be proud of the more than $100 million that was spent by VA staff learning how to be better union members. It must have been elegant, as the average expense for the attendees ranged from $2400 to $5000 per person.

The almost one million vets who have waited over four months for service only to have one out of six done incorrectly can’t be happy about that. More deaths by suicide than in combat is a disgrace!

We should not have been surprised by your decision to take away G.I. bill money from vets trying to finish their education! Only those who can’t read will believe your attempt to blame it on the Republicans! That was your decision!
