Despite cold/wind, golfers have good outing in Colfax

The Odessa/Harrington Titans golf team traveled to Colfax Tuesday, March 12, for a nine-hole match against Colfax and Northwest Christian, reported golf coach Sam Read of Odessa. It was 51 degrees and very windy, but the rain held off until the match was over.

“Once again this year the Colfax boys team is quite strong,” Read said of the team that won the match handily with a team score of 215. Northwest Christian did not have enough players to make a full team, so they did not score. The Titan team scored 260.

There was a tie for medalist with a score of 40 between Casey Johnson and Hunter Weitze, both of Colfax.

Titans Individual scores were: Madison Charlton 46, Ricky Hedreen 48, Griffey Powell 52, Nick Nelson 54, William Mann 60, Bo Gunning 65, Derek Montgomery 79.

The next match is also nine holes on March 19 in Wilbur.
