Variety show aims to help update New Ritz Theater

The New Ritz Theater is in need of a digital format and electrical renovation in order to stay in operation. Loss of this community asset would be truly unfortunate, and the Ralston Grange has decided to try to do something to help out.

The Ralston Grange will be sponsoring, with the help of the Ritzville Downtown Development Association and the Ritzville Chamber of Commerce, a Variety Show, “Puttin’ On The Ritz,” on Friday, April 19. The purpose of the show is to help raise funds for the needed renovation and update of “The New Ritz Theater” and to raise awareness in the local communities that without these needed updates to digital the theater could face possible closure.

The show will be held at the Ralston Grange Hall, 10 miles south of Ritzville on State Highway 261. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the show to start at 6:30 p.m. There will be a number of silent auction items to bid on, a concession stand and a free drawing for a Kindle Fire, donated by the Grange.

There will be numbers featuring local talent including dancing, singing, cowboy poetry and instrumental performances. Anyone wanting more information on the show may contact Randy Roth at 659-0893. Anyone with a particular talent to share is also welcome to contact Roth to donate their services to the show.
