Gymnast Tori Weishar at Great West Gym Fest

Tori Weishaar and the Athletes in Motion (AIM), gymnastics team from Moses Lake, attended the Great West Gym Fest in Coeur d'Alene this weekend. This is a huge meet that draws gymnasts from Alaska to California and even Canada. It is also a meet that is attended by past Olympians- they give the awards, do speeches and interact with the gymnasts.

Tori competed as a level seven gymnast, scoring her personal best on bars with a 9.425 out of 10 and her personal best in the all-around; comprised of scores from vault, bars, beam, and floor routine with a score of 36.6 out of 40. She won the all-around competition, won the bars, got second in floor and vault and fourth on beam. Her team also won the high point team award for level seven.

More excitingly, Tori's score on bars qualified her to attend "The Big Show Finals" Saturday night in which the two top scoring gymnasts per event per level were brought back to compete one at a time in a showcase format. Tori took third in the finals and received her award from former Olympic gymnast Missy Marlowe.

Tori has two meets left this year and then will continue training as a level eight with her focus on next year's season. Tori is a part of AIM gymnastics in Moses Lake and trains 14 hours a week in Moses Lake with additional training at home.
