Harrington Opera

House Activity

The Harrington Opera House was abuzz last week as the art room was readied for the installation of carpeting. New carpet is also slated for the lobby and bathroom hallway. Jay Kane, of Harrington, leveled the flooring where the stadium seats had been when the art room was a handball court. He also hung sheet-rock on the exterior walls of the bathroom that serves the art room. He will be refurbishing and completing the woodwork around the front windows in between music and art classes this week. Bonnie Hardy has finished removing the plaster from the east wall of the auditorium and is working on the south wall this week. She is also refinishing the original wood trim around each of the windows. As she goes along, she is filling the openings around each window, helping to further seal against drafts and to protect the wood.
