Editor's note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Monday, Aug. 18: An inmate in the county jail hid contraband food items, extra uniforms and bedding in a cell. Another inmate's dinner was eaten by a third inmate. Others confined there clogged a day room toilet while "being disruptive."

About 75 gallons of fuel were removed from a truck parked on McLain Road East near Gravelle Road North.

Deputies separated a man and woman involved in a domestic violence incident at a residence in the 800 block of Main Street in Davenport.

Davenport ambulance personnel and EMTs tended to a patient who had an emergency while on a houseboat in the Spokane River arm of Lake Roosevelt.

Odessa Police investigated an incident of credit card theft/fraud.

Tuesday, Aug. 19: Deputies were unable to locate a truck that was reported in a ditch on SR 231 north of Reardan.

Firefighters from Davenport, Seven Bays and Egypt, along with the state Department of Natural Resources, extinguished a lightning-caused brush and timber fire that burned about two acres in the vicinity of Miles Road and SR 25.

Deputies investigated a possible narcotics-related incident in an unspecified area of the county.

A 74-year-old man's body was found floating in the water near the Lincoln boat launch. National Park Service personnel assisted in the retrieval of the victim's boat, which was floating against nearby rocks.

A West Virginia woman's credit card was used for a fraudulent $275 purchase that was shipped to a Grand Coulee address.

Deputies responded to an assault report involving two men and a woman in the vicinity of the Cottonwood Apartments in Davenport.

A caller expressed concern about the heat and its possible effect on puppies for sale outside the Creston City Hall. Another caller reported that a hitchhiker he observed on SR 2 near Janett Road east of Davenport may not have any water for the dog that accompanied him.

Deputies checked out a caller's report that a man and woman were yelling at each other and making threats in the 500 block of Ross Street in Davenport.

Wilbur Police investigated vandalism at the community pool, where tables and chairs were broken and a big rock tossed into the water. Signage also was reported damaged.

Seven individuals were involved in an underage drinking party inside a room at the Willows Motel in Wilbur.

Kids reportedly knocked on windows, rang doorbells and ran away, irritating residents of the 700 block of SE Regent in Wilbur.

Wednesday, Aug. 20: Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious man in a pickup truck about which young swimmers at the Davenport Water Park were uncomfortable.

A caller reported that an individual was collecting human waste in the 800 block of Main Street in Davenport.

A Harrington store reported receiving a check for $22.26 that had insufficient funds.

Deputies assisted Wilbur Police in the arrest of the driver of a vehicle that nearly caused a collision on SR 174 north of Wilbur.

A vehicle sustained damage after colliding with a deer on U.S. 2 just east of Davenport.

Thursday, Aug. 21: The theft of a sprinkler controller was reported at Trinity Bible Fellowship in Davenport.

A resident on Miles Creston Road told dispatchers that 50 cows had run through her property, destroying a garden area.

A 14-year-old Davenport boy reported being threatened by a man while at the local skate park.

A Davenport woman reported almost being hit head-on by a car passing another vehicle on U.S. 2 near Fitzpatrick Road.

Wilbur Police responded to a "loud screaming match" at a residence in the 400 block of SE Trinity.

Odessa Police responded to a report that someone in a pickup truck shot at a man's cat in the 400 block of South Birch.

Friday, Aug. 22: Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a 61-year-old woman experiencing a medical emergency at a Porcupine Bay Road North residence.

A truck was involved in a rollover collision on Earl Road near Harrington. A deer also was a factor in the incident.

A man who had been confined in the county jail under contract with the state Department of Corrections was observed kicking tops off of flowers in Davenport's Pioneer Plaza while waiting for transportation out of the city.

A lock was cut and fuel taken from property on Wagner Farm Road East in the Reardan area.

A Davenport caller said his daughter was a victim of harassment.

A Davenport man told dispatchers about a phone scam.

Deputies cited a man in the 800 block of Park Street in Davenport for allowing a medical marijuana grow to be in public view. Another issue was dealt with at a grow on property adjacent to Underwood Canyon Road East.

A Davenport woman advised dispatchers she had received harassing phone calls from a man who told her she was being investigated for tax fraud.

The female victim in a domestic assault that occurred at the U.S. 2 Telford rest area was treated at Coulee Community Hospital. The incident remains under investigation.

A Davenport resident asked deputies to watch the downtown crosswalks because "multiple" cars weren't stopping for pedestrians wishing to cross Morgan Street.

Two men were cited for consuming alcohol while in Sprague's city park, where such behavior is not permitted.

Deputies investigated a possible trespassing incident involving two men carrying backpacks on property along Cherry Lane North.

Deputies responded to a dispute between two men in the 400 block of West 3rd in Sprague and a similar situation in the 600 block of Ross Street in Davenport.

Saturday, Aug. 23: A cougar was spotted by a resident of the Deer Meadows area.

A caller expressed concern about a large number of juveniles hitchhiking in downtown Davenport.

Dispatchers took a report that a 4-wheeler was trespassing on property in the Old Kuchs Road area.

A resident of the 1100 block of Park Street in Davenport advised that someone may have been in his garage, where he found a chemical bottle on the floor.

Damage by trespassers was reported on property adjacent to Speigle Canyon Road north of Wilbur.

No injuries were reported as a result of a collision involving two vehicles on SR 231 near Little Falls Road.

A woman reportedly contemplating suicide after being evicted from a Grand Coulee residence was placed in the custody of area mental health personnel.

Firefighters from Seven Bays and Egypt responded to a motor home and/or recreational vehicle on fire in the 42700 block of Antler Road.

Sunday, Aug. 24: A Sprague man reported a fifth-wheel trailer was missing from the 300 block of West 1st Street.

A truck pulling a horse trailer was stopped after being clocked traveling at 84 mph on U.S. 2 west of Reardan.

Someone entered Trinity Bible Fellowship by taking a screen off a window and made a mess with food while inside.

Harrington ambulance personnel transported a woman who suffered a possible seizure to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport from the 400 block of South First Street.

Deputies responded to a Harrington woman's report of problems with her juvenile son.

Reardan Police looked into a report that a bag of feces was thrown into property in the 300 block of North Cedar Street.
