Monday, Oct. 6: Harrington ambulance personnel transported a man and woman to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport after they were hurt in a one-vehicle collision in the 400 block of West Glover in Harrington. The woman suffered a possible broken wrist and experienced pain in her hip and chest.

A collision involving a sheriff's patrol vehicle and a deer took place on SR 28 in the Harrington area.

A Davenport resident believes one of his ladders was mistakenly taken by local painters after they completed work at his residence in the 800 block of Tenth Street. He asked for assistance from deputies when he had difficulty connecting with the firm.

A worker at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds expressed concern that a locked shed had been entered.

Deputies became involved in a dispute about a blocked easement/access road between neighbors on Little Falls Road north of Reardan.

A one-vehicle rollover collision was reported on Waukon Road north of Wagner Farm Road.

A deputy investigated claims by a resident of the 700 block of South Dayton that his residential construction project was being "blocked" by the former and current mayors of Sprague.

A tractor with a flat tire is believed responsible for substantial damage to the asphalt on Bluestem Road near its intersection with SR 28.

Insufficient funds checks totaling more than $200 were used to pay for merchandise at Davenport Good Neighbor Pharmacy.

Acting on a tip, deputies recovered a stolen vehicle from the 100 block of South 1st in Almira and took a local woman into custody.

Wilbur Police investigated a possible sexual offense involving a teenage girl.

Tuesday, Oct. 7: A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on SR 28 near Odessa.

A deputy responded to a request from the county clerk's office in the courthouse for assistance with "some irate customers."

A Sterling Valley Road resident told dispatchers that his landlord might be "cleaning out his apartment and selling" his possessions while he was away during the previous week.

A caller shared his suspicions that a man and woman might have been preparing to steal scrap metal from property on Fisher Road East in the Reardan area.

A citation for a dog at-large was issued after a deputy responded to an aggressive dog report on Adams Street between Ninth and Tenth in Davenport.

A group of three or four individuals was observed trespassing on the docks at the Seven Bays Marina.

Responding to an "unwanted person" report, Wilbur Police discovered the man involved was attempting to deliver food from Schwann's to the residence in the 500 block of SW Regent.

Wednesday, Oct. 8: Responding to the 1100 block of Second Street, Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a 79-year-old woman who may have suffered a heart attack.

A caller observed two women hitting each other in a car parked in front of Halme Construction in the 1000 block of Morgan Street in Davenport.

A pile of white garbage bags containing yard waste was found illegally dumped just west of the twin water towers on Alexander Road near Reardan.

Davenport City Hall staff received a report that someone was selling vacuum cleaners door-to-door in the vicinity of Eleventh and Park streets without a city solicitor license.

A deputy responded to a report that an 84-year-old man may have had a heart attack in the 200 block of Washington Street in Davenport.

A deputy located a student's bicycle that had been stolen from outside Davenport High School.

A Davenport area resident emailed his suspicions about a man and vehicle he observed in the vicinity of a barn on Morrison Road east of Omans Road and again at a mobile home park on Adams Street. During the first encounter, the man claimed he was taking photos, but no camera was observed. Subsequently, the vehicle was spotted "full of household items" that made the reporting party wonder whether any could have been removed from the barn.

Thursday, Oct. 9: A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on Coffeepot Road west of the entrance to the lake.

A Harrington man reported an incident of harassment involving text messages.

Wilbur Police responded to a shoplifting incident at Sandy's Family Foods.

A caller asked deputies to check out a report that squatters may be attempting to build a cabin on property in the vicinity of Hawk Creek Ranch Road North.

A female inmate was transported from the county jail to Lincoln Hospital after corrections deputies found her wrapped in a blanket under a cell bed and "seemingly unresponsive."

Operators of a fruit stand in the 700 block of Morgan Street in Davenport were advised of the potential traffic hazard (setting up in a diagonal parking stall) and that they needed to have a city solicitor license to continue.

A dog reportedly tore a boy's shirt during an incident in the 1100 block of Eighth Street in Davenport.

Harrington city staff expressed concern about a man who "acted out of sorts" while inside City Hall.

Dispatchers were advised of a large, illegal bonfire that had been set in the vicinity of Moore and Fisher roads north of Reardan.

Responding to a shop building in Almira, deputies recovered a vehicle that had been stolen in July.

Friday, Oct. 10: Receiving a report of a break-in at an unoccupied house on Burke Road near Harrington, a responding deputy determined that no crime had occurred.

Two vehicles collided at Morgan and Eighth streets in Davenport, with no injuries reported.

Two large campfires, possibly in violation of a burn ban, were observed at a hunting camp and a residence on Redwine Canyon Road.

A caller told dispatchers her vehicle caught fire and was disabled at the top of the SR 231 canyon north of Reardan.

An Odessa man reported that a man claiming to be from Avista Utilities demanded his credit card number to prevent having the power shut off to the residence in the 600 block of East 1st Avenue.

Saturday, Oct. 11: Five hunters spotted trespassing on property just north of the Sprague Lake Resort explained they didn't have permission from the property owner to be there, but "they hunt there all the time."

Deputies and state Fish and Wildlife officers responded to a report of poaching involving moose and elk in the vicinity of Little Falls Road and SR 231 north of Reardan.

A deputy was unable to locate hunters reportedly along Doerschlag Road near Sprague.

A vehicle struck a sign at the intersection of SR 25 and U.S. 2 east of Davenport.

An overnight hit-and-run collision was reported in the vicinity of Ross and Sixth streets in Davenport.

Trespassing hunters motivated a call from a property owner on Coffeepot Road East.

Two occupants of a Chevrolet Blazer were transported by air and road ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 2 and Waukon Road east of Reardan. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt. Both vehicles were demolished.

A deputy advised the driver of a 5th-wheel vehicle having wheel problems to disconnect from a power source at the Egypt elevator adjacent to SR 25. Earlier, a resident of the area refused permission for the vehicle to hook up to her electricity and remain in her driveway for a couple days.

A property owner chased away trespassing hunters from his CRP field adjacent to North Telford Road.

Hunters camped on property off North Carlson Road in the Lamona area and drove 4-wheelers in pursuit of a deer, leaving a gate open and allowing cows to get out.

Deputies checked out a report of an individual using a bulldozer in an attempt to push a camper over a 100-foot cliff in the vicinity of Hawk Creek Ranch Road North. A caller also reported hearing yelling and screaming that stopped after he heard gunshots in the area about two hours before.

A deputy intercepted a driver who passed several other vehicles on the right while traveling on U.S. 2 near Reardan.

Dispatchers were advised of a vehicle traveling about 40 mph, described by the caller as "impeding traffic with at least 10 vehicles behind it" on U.S. 2 west of Reardan.

A deputy responded to the 500 block of Spring Street in Davenport, where a 93-year-old woman had fallen, possibly breaking her hip.

A motorcyclist was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane after colliding with a deer on SR 28 near Old Missile Site Road south of Davenport.

Another collision involving a vehicle and deer was reported on SR 25 about seven miles north of Davenport.

Sunday, Oct. 12: Suggesting deputies look for an underage drinking party, a caller reported seeing a "pile of beers" at the intersection of Yarwood and Ring roads in the Sprague area.

Through the efforts of the Lincoln County Lost and Found Pet Network, a dog that ran from a vehicle involved in a rollover collision on I-90 near Fishtrap was found and reunited the following day with its owner, who was transported to a Spokane hospital.

A caller reported a hunter in a vehicle fired his gun toward a field in the vicinity of Telecky and Gravelle roads.

A Sprague woman reported that two tires had been flattened on her vehicle parked in the 400 block of West 2nd Street.

A man hunting with the owner's permission on property adjacent to Indian Creek Road North told dispatchers of an encounter with another man who, while holding a gun on him, ordered that he surrender his gun, identification, hunting license and pack. A responding deputy contacted a couple of suspects.

A possibly intoxicated man whose driver's license had been cancelled for medical reasons was observed behind the steering wheel of a vehicle traveling on Moore Road North in the Reardan area.

A bull moose was observed chasing a calf and on the roadway in the vicinity of U.S. 2 and Oehlwein Road east of Davenport. The animals eventually spent the better part of a day and night in a Davenport resident's back yard before moving on.

A deputy investigated the reported assault of an 18-year-old Davenport man near Pacific Pride in the 1300 block of Twelfth Street.

A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on SR 23 about a mile south of Harrington.

Deputies responded to a residence on Skyview Place in Lincoln to check out a report of gunshots fired and yelling. They determined that an intoxicated man lost his house keys and demonstrated his displeasure by shooting his semi-automatic handgun into the air.

Criminal Sentencing

Daniel Curtis Sherratt, 30, Grand Coulee, pleaded guilty Oct. 7 to fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation (amended through plea negotiations from voyeurism). His sentence included 3 days jail (1 credited as served), $700 court costs and attorney fees to be determined. The case involved incidents of videotaping an 18-year-old girl as she showered in May and June of this year.

Civil Judgment

Myrtle C. Glinski and Gary B. Martin, doing business as The Viking Drive-In at Sprague, must pay $775.45 in worker's compensation taxes to the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.

New Criminal Case

Donald J. Bodeau, 47, Almira, is charged with residential burglary and second-degree theft in connection with a Sept. 7 incident at a Douglas Road residence, from which dinnerware, silverware, clothing, liquor, a compressor, six silver dollars in a jar and other items were taken on Sept. 9 and 12, along with a Sheriff's Office surveillance camera that had been installed there after the first incident.

Michelle Kay Tallman, of Reardan, seeks a domestic violence protection order against Jacob Ray Everett.
