Beverly J. (Grosso) Auker

Beverly J. (Grosso) Auker, 84 years old and a longtime resident of Odessa, passed away on October 31, 2014 in Odessa.

Aunt Bev was born April 22, 1930 in Okanogan to Julius (Jack) and Gladys (Grace) (Beeman) Grosso. She was raised and graduated from Grand Coulee High School during the building of the Grand Coulee Dam. Her parents owned and operated the Maytag store in Grand Coulee until 1975 when her Dad passed away.

She worked at Odessa Memorial Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 28.5 years.

Her hobbies were sewing and crocheting, and she liked vacationing in Hawaii. She also liked watching Jeopardy and Wheel-of-Fortune on television.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Larry S. Auker (1975), her brothers-in-law Eugene Wraspir and Ray Bender and her sister Betty Bender.

She is survived by her sister Gloria G. Wraspir of Spokane, her two brothers-in-law David (Patricia) Grosso of Winchester, Va. and Robert (Becky) Grosso of Yakima, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Aunt Bev’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2014, at the Odessa Cemetery Chapel in Odessa. She will be laid to rest at the Odessa Cemetery.
