Schmierer, Gross place in FFA job interview event

Two members from the Odessa FFA participated in the north sub-district FFA Job Interview Career Development Event this past week held at Soap Lake High School. Alexis Schmierer placed first, and Garrett Gross placed seventh. The job interview event is a competition that tests an FFA member’s ability to perform effectively throughout the entire job application process. The participants prepared a resume and cover letter and participated in a job interview as part of the competition. Representatives from the Washington Potato Commission provided the panel of judges for this event. Alexis’s high placement earned her a spot to compete in the District 9 FFA Job Interview event on March 7. These two students prepared for this competition as part of a job hiring instructional unit in the Agricultural Leadership Class at Odessa High School under the direction of FFA advisor and Vo-Ag instructor, Diane Baye.
