Letter to the Editor: Campaign thoughts

A few months ago, one of many headlines was, “The race for the White House.” That was a misnomer, as marathon might have been more appropriate.

As with any contentious election, this one will go down in history for its juvenile sparring and grade-school language on the bad side. This has surprised me.

The Blue party is down to two candidates who have played softball in their debates. Maybe this is because Hillary has legal problems possibly facing her.

The mainstream media have done their best to give certain candidates more time and space.

For those of us who have chosen to follow this closely, we need to remember that political promises are abundant, but they are not kept. I have already heard many retractions.

The Blue candidates are talking about free college for everyone and making it so loans would not have to be repaid. This sounds nice to the younger voters, but if one of them is elected, they would have the wealthy pay a higher rate of taxes.

If Mr. Trump, who is leading the race for voters choosing him, does not get the majority needed, then the Reds would go to a convention.

That would be interesting.
