Titans lambaste Selkirk by a final score of 76-6

The Titan high school football team punished the Selkirk Rangers by 70 points before sending them back home from the Harrington Fall Festival last Friday. The final score of the non-league game was 76-6.

The Titans definitely set the tone of the game in the first quarter with six touchdowns, five two-point conversions and 46 points.

Brad Johnston scored the first touchdown, catching a 14-yard pass from quarterback Colton Hunt. Hunt ranthe ball for the two extra points. Hunt then scored the second TD of the game on a 19-yard run, with Gaven Elder running for the two-point conversion. Sage Elder had a 45-yard run to score the third TD with Chance Messer catching a pass from Hunt to score the two-point conversion. S. Elder caught a pass from Hunt a 32-yard TD, making the score 30-0 for the Titans. The final 16 points in the first quarter were made by S. Elder, with G. Elder scoring the two extra points, and Joshua Clark making an interception and scoring on a 56-yard return. Hunt made the two-point conversion.

The second quarter found G. Elder making a 15-yard run, and S. Elder making the extra two points. Clark scored once again, this time on a 63-yard interception return. The Titans went into the half with a score of 60-0.

After the half, Caleb Behrens scored first on a 13-yard run, with Clark running in the extra two points. Clark then scored a TD on a five-yard run and before running in the two point conversion.That brought the final score for the Titans to 76.

Selkirk, holding the Titans scoreless in the fourth quarter, scored their only TD on a 10-yard run with no extra points.

The Titans went 306 yards on 23 plays. Hunt had 111 yards passing, with seven attempts and six completed.

At 3 p.m. Friday, September 30, the Titans travel to meet the Wellpinit Redskins.
