Lorraine Iltz Becker

Lorraine Iltz Becker entered into eternal rest on October 7, 2016, surrounded by her family.

She was born to George Iltz, Jr. and Katie Kissler Iltz September 23, 1931. She grew up in Odessa, a small farming community settled mainly by Germans from Russia.

Lorraine graduated from Odessa High School in 1949, and went to work for the telephone office in Odessa. When the Odessa office closed at the end of the year, she transferred to Ritzville. Lorraine met Lorane Becker, who was working at the Safeway store, and they were married January 7, 1951. Lorane went on to manage stores in Ritzville, Walla Walla, Richland, Pasco and Kennewick.

Lorraine is survived by her husband of 65 years Lorane Becker of Kennewick; two daughters, Lynnell Rogers (and partner Yantzee Everett) of Kennewick and Laurice May (and husband Rick) of Spokane; grandchildren Nicole Rogers of Phoenix, Ariz., Andrea Rogers Peterson of West Richland and Erick May of Spokane; sisters-in-law Dorothy Iltz Frederick of Odessa, Janice Iltz, Donna Iltz and Ruth Becker Gust of Ritzville; brother-in-law Delmar Becker of Spokane, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to niece Susan Praetorius Ballo of Kennewick who was always there for us. Lorraine is also survived by a very special friend from first grade on, Marion King Pfeiffer of Yakima.

Preceding Lorraine in death were her parents, five brothers, Leonard, Elmer, Harvey, Marvin and Dean, and a much-loved sister, Louella Iltz Praetorius.

Lorraine was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and First Lutheran Church in Kennewick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House at the Chaplaincy, 1480 Fowler Str., Richland Wash. or First Lutheran Church of Kennewick, 418 N. Yelm, Kennewick.
