Richard W. Voise

Richard was born to william and Irene Voise on November 11, 1931, in Havre, Mont. and passed away December 12, 2016 in Odessa.

He is survived by Rita (Uhrich), his wife of 64 years; two sons, Alan (Diane) of Odessa and Roger (Nancy) of Plainfield, Ill., and one daughter, Lori Coleman of Spokane. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard is also survived by two sisters, Virginia Haase of Spokane and Shirley (Archie) Besancon of Tillamook, Ore .; brother-in-law, Robert ‘Shorty” Sewall of Spokane, and sister- and brother-in-law, Shari and Punch Pfeifer of Odessa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Francis Speck and sister-in-law Carol Sewall.

Richard was a farmer for many years. In the early years of his farming career he also worked as a carpenter. Richard was also the original owner/operator of Voise Sausage in Odessa.

Richard remained a farmer into his retirement years, raising his annual garden, maintaining his beautiful yard and growing his many flowers, which he loved. In retirement, Richard also enjoyed numerous hobbies, making stained glass being one of his favorites. Many of his stained glass art pieces remain promnently displayed at the entrances to Christ Lutheran Church in Odessa, where he was a faithful member.

Memorials in Richard’s name can bemade to the Christ Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 400, Odessa WA 99159 or to a charity of one’s choice.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Odessa on Monday, Feburary 27, 2017, at 11 a.m.

Richard’s humor and quick wit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
