Chicks with Sticks league finishes 9-week season

Apryl Wraspir of the Chicks with Sticks golf league reported that week six saw Jax Allen win "closest to the pin" on hole #7. She was 12 feet, 8 inches from the hole. Next was Paige Alloway at 15 feet, 3 inches.

Week seven's winner was Tracy Walter with a long, long putt of 72.5. It was also a birdie for her.

Fellow league member Suzie Deife provided the following season-end information.

The Chicks with Sticks women's golf league ended their nine-week season on Monday, August 14, with a nine-hole, shot-gun start scramble at the Odessa Golf course. A total of 43 women golfers turned out for the league, which gains a few new members each year since it started back in 2011.

Megan Schlimmer, Dorcey Hunt, Paige Alloway and Carley Williams were the overall winners of the league and walked away with $80 cash. Coming in close behind them was the newest team to the league, consisting of Deanna Nelson, Tracy Walter, Barbara Walter and Wendy Meise, placing second and taking home $40 cash. Side game winners for the night were Chris Crossley for closest to the line on a drive on hole #9. Most teams walked away with some sort of cash or credit prize during the nine-week season, which made it fun for all teams.
