Another winning week for Tiger athletic teams

The Odessa Tiger football team played an away game in Entiat last Friday, October 13, and came away with another win in their undefeated season thus far.

Freshman quarterback Jett Nelson guided the team to this victory, completing seven of 13 pass attempts for a total of 122 passing yards and keeping the ball seven times for a total of 10 yards rushing and one touchdown.

Senior running backs Gaven Elder and Colton Hunt carried most of the load and led the team in rushing, receiving and scoring. Elder carried 24 times for 180 yards rushing and two TDs and also had 75 yards on five pass receptions, one for a TD. C. Hunt carried 19 times for 153 yards rushing and five TDs, along with two pass receptions for another 47 yards on offense.

C. Hunt’s total of 32 points consisted of five TDs (at six points each) plus one two-point conversion. Elder scored 20 total points consisting of three TDs and one two-point conversion. Nelson’s TD scored six points, and Marcus King added another four on two-point conversions. Jakob Starkel scored two points on a successful conversion, and Jaden Hunt scored two points on a safety.

On defense, Elder led the team with 10 solo tackles and six assists, C. Hunt added 9 solo tackles and three assists, J. Hunt five solo tackles and four assists, Tim DeWulf five solo tackles )including a QB sack) and one assist, Pilot Weishaar six solo tackles, Brady Walter and Marcus King four solo tackles and three assists each and Theron Schlomer three solo tackles and two assists.

Volleyball

The Odessa Tiger volleyball team won their home conference game against the Inchelium Hornets Saturday with a score of 3-0. Scores are as follows:

Game 1: 25-19 Tigers

Game 2: 28-26 Tigers

Game 3: 25-16 Tigers

Ending the game with six aces and two blocks was McKennah Davison, while big sis Maleah Davison ironically had the same numbers, but added six kills and two blocks. Brenna Carstensen had 18 assists and Maddy Wagner had 11 digs.

The Tigers have an away game against the Wellpinit Redskins Saturday, October 21, at noon.
