Wagner receives Ag award

Reardan resident recognized

SPOKANE - Reardan resident Jennie Wagner received the 2024 Excellence in Agriculture award from Farmland Company at the Spokane Ag Show Tuesday, Feb. 6. The annual award is given to those who have contributed significantly to agriculture in the Inland Northwest.

"Jennie was nominated for the award because of her long time commitment to teaching youth about agriculture," Ag Show board member Brian Jeske said.

Wagner retired from the Medical Lake School District last May after 12 years as the FFA advisor and agriculture science teacher.

"I am humbled by the award," Wagner said. "I'm happy that teachers are being recognized for their commitment to our youth. This award shows my colleagues how much the agriculture industry appreciates them. No other teacher gets to build a relationship with kids like an ag teacher."
