Alert resident foils scam

Odessa resident Nancy Liner has informed The Record of a scam telephone call she received April 2. She wanted to make sure that the public is aware of possible scam activity.

Liner received the call Saturday, April 2 at about 7:30 a.m. She was told that she had just won 2.5 million dollars from Publishers Clearing House and that the ‘Prize Patrol’ would be arriving in a few hours. The caller said he was sure Liner realized that she would have to pay a lot of taxes on the money, and that was where he could help her out.
