Betty Jean (Kiehn) Haase

Betty Haase, 86, was born in Odessa April 26, 1926, to Carl and Pauline Kiehn. She passed away peacefully April 1, 2013 at Emeritus Hearthstone Inn in Moses Lake.

Betty was a homemaker and worked at Schmauder’s Grocery after they moved into Odessa from the family farm in 1963. In 1970, they moved to Moses Lake where she has resided since. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her 2 daughters, Pattie (Jarrel) Anderson, Ephrata, Carlene (Mike) O’Konek, Moses Lake; five grandchildren, Lisa (Jeff) Patricia, Corona, California, Jason (Katie) Anderson, Avondale, Arizona, Jared O’Konek, Gilbert, Arizona, Kylie (Samuel) Dart and Derek O’Konek, all of Moses Lake and her four great-grandchildren, Anthony Resteivo, Matthew Patricia, Christina Patricia, Corona, California and Pyper Dart, Moses Lake, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bert, daughter Gail, her parents and two sisters, Evelyn Kiehn and Viola Boyk.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Hearthstone for their compassion and loving care of their mom the past 21 years. Thanks also to Assured Hospice for their assistance, especially Paul Wagner and Mark Bassett, the Chaplains, whose visits mom enjoyed.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. April 13, 2013 at the Odessa Cemetery. A reception will follow at Heritage Church, 302 S. First Street in Odessa.
