Monday, July 8: Two deputies initially responded to what turned out to be a false alarm at Wheatland Bank's Davenport branch.

A man described a suspicious phone conversation during which the caller, claiming to be from Medicare, requested bank information after saying new cards needed to be issued.

A strong ammonia odor was reported at Crop Production Services in Harrington.

Deputies provided guidance for a motorist who got lost in the Sprague/Fishtrap area while trying to get to Spokane from Adams County.

Reardan Police investigated a verbal dispute involving a man and woman in the 300 block of North Aspen.

Tuesday, July 9: Deputies were advised that the state Department of Licensing was investigating a possible theft of money from its office in the Davenport Memorial Hall.

Septic tank hoses were reported in the northbound lane of SR 28 south of Davenport.

A Sprague caller reported a burglary at a residence on Brown Road East, where a broken window allowed entrance. A computer, digital camera and cell phone were reported stolen.

Damage was reported to a fence on property adjacent to Stromberger Road near the intersection with Doerschlag Road in the Sprague area. Tire tracks were discovered nearby.

Deputies investigated a possible attempt to pass a stolen check in the Davenport area.

Two men were described as "forceful in trying to get credit card and Social Security information" from potential satellite TV customers in the Lamona area.

A caller reported fireworks were being launched in the vicinity of Wild Turkey Lane.

Deputies responded to a possible domestic situation involving a Davenport man and his daughter.

Odessa Police investigated the slashing of the seat on a golf cart at the local links.

A caller told National Park Service rangers of a possible fire near the Hawk Creek boat launch.

Wednesday, July 10: A caller expressed concern that a large group of bicyclists riding side-by-side on SR 2 between Creston and Davenport may be a potential traffic hazard.

Deputies investigated a possible break-in involving a vehicle parked at a couple of Davenport locations that is thought to have occurred between January and March.

A caller shared concern about a pan of antifreeze left unattended at the intersection of Tenth and Washington streets in Davenport.

Occupants of a vehicle parked on the side of Deking Road about a half mile north of SR 28 were observed in a "heated discussion."

A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on SR 25 about 18 miles north of Davenport.

A woman told Odessa Police that a man was laying down in her driveway in the 700 block of West 7th Avenue.

Thursday, July 11: A Davenport woman told dispatchers she believes her home had been "poisoned."

Deputies investigated a narcotics-related incident in Davenport.

Three vehicles collided on SR 2 at Zeimer Road east of Davenport with unknown injuries reported. For a time, both east and west lanes were closed.

Creston and Wilbur firefighters were dispatched to a fire believed caused by farm equipment working property in the vicinity of Blenz, Swanson School and Rosman roads. Elsewhere, Odessa firefighters battled a brush fire at Batum Road and SR 28.

Wilbur Police investigated a report of a damaged sink in the city park men's bathroom.

Friday, July 12: An argument broke out between occupants of two vehicles traveling on SR 28 at Batum Road near Odessa. According to the dispatcher report, rocks were thrown onto one vehicle by another that had passed at high speeds, resulting in windshield damage to the first vehicle.

Finding an access road blocked by a farmer's truck, a man drove through a wheat field to get to the Horwege Road gravel pit, where he said he had gone for years to shoot. After a deputy responded, the man apologized for causing damage to the wheat.

A resident of the 100 block of Park Street in Davenport reported an open glove box in her vehicle, which she said had been entered without permission, as well as suspicious activity at her garage.

Deputies investigated the theft of a revolver, electronics and camping gear that occurred in the Fort Spokane area over the Fourth of July weekend.

A deputy advised the "tired" driver of a vehicle observed traveling "all over the roadway" on SR 2 near Reardan to pull over and rest.

Saturday, July 13: A Davenport caller reported someone had changed his voice mail and claimed he did drugs.

A Harrington girl was placed into detention after allegedly assaulting her mother.

Personnel at Fishtrap Lake Resort asked for a deputy's assistance in removing two intoxicated individuals from the property. Later, one of them, described as a diabetic, was transported by ambulance from the Sprague area to a Spokane hospital.

A recklessly driven vehicle was observed narrowly missing a sign on the I-90 Sprague off ramp.

Odessa Police investigated the theft of a woman's credit card and subsequent charges on her bill.

National Park Service rangers responded to a report that between 20 and 30 individuals camped at Detillian campground in the Porcupine Bay area were allegedly cutting down trees and causing problems.

Sunday, July 14: Concerned about possible fire danger, deputies responded to a report of fireworks being set off in the Hanson Harbor area.

Personnel at two west Davenport businesses reported an "odd" woman in a hoody and carrying a black bag who appeared to be looking into cars and store windows.

A swarm of honey bees was found in the Davenport United Methodist Church play area. Two deputies and a beekeeper from Reardan responded to move the bees.

A Hume Road resident reported the theft of $4,000 in cash and a boxed silverware set.

Wilbur Police investigated a possible sex-related crime involving an underage girl.

Reardan Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of North Birch Street where a door had been kicked in. A sewing machine and other items were reported missing.

July 9: Michael A. Detrick, 23, Seattle, arrested by Washington State Patrol for failing to appear for violating a restraining order, no valid operator's license and refusing to comply.

Adam B. Cain, 28, Davenport, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) for second-degree theft.

July 11: Robert W. Lockett, 34, Spokane, arrested by LCSO on a warrant for residential burglary.

July 12: Morgan S. Welch, 23, Reardan, arrested by Reardan Police for violating a restraining order.

July 15: Loran T. Bacon, 42, Spokane, arrested by LCSO for failing to appear for driving while license suspended.

Juvenile Offender Disposition

Dustin Tanner Baughman, 17, of Davenport, pleaded guilty July 9 to fourth-degree assault (amended through plea negotiations to remove "sexual motivation" language from charge) in connection with a March 20 incident at Davenport Pharmacy that involved an employee there. He must complete 50 hours community service, 12 months community supervision, appropriate counseling and treatment and pay $100 court costs. He is not allowed to be on the store's premises or have any contact with the employee. He also must possess no weapons and comply with a curfew. No restitution was requested. If he complies with the court's conditions, two days detention will be waived.

New Civil Case

In an unlawful detainer matter, Jon F. Freeze, of Davenport, seeks restoration of premises at 507 Maxwell Street and $350 in unpaid June rent from Tim and Barbara Kannas, who were served a three-day notice to vacate on June 27, according to the court record.
