Richard Wraspir

Richard "Ric" Wraspir lost his three-month battle with cancer on November 30, 2013 at the age of 54.

He was the youngest son born to Alfred and Marilyn Wraspir on October 22, 1959.

He was preceded in death by his father Alfred J. Wraspir, grandparents Louis and Louise Wraspir and Melvin and Bessie Marie Northrip.

He is survived by his wife Janet, daughters Ashley and Cammie (Lorissa) Wraspir, mother Marilyn Edwards of Seattle, brothers Michael (Beverly) of O'Fallon, Mo., Jerry of Odessa, sister Jennifer of Redmond and step-mother JoEllen (Alfred) of Tucson, Ariz.

Ric spent 28 years at Boeing Company as a quality assurance inspector. He called Seattle home since first grade when his parents finally settled there after traveling with Boeing Company.

Ric loved to fish, bird hunt and spend time with family and friends and try to make people smile and laugh.

Ric became an ambassador for Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day in 2007 and walked 60 miles for six years. His Mom and cousin Sherrie are survivors, and he was afraid for all the women he loved being affected. He wanted to find a cure and make a difference

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 25, at Lake City Presbyterian Church, 3841 NE 123rd, Seattle, WA 98125 from 1 to 4 p.m. A memorial celebration will take place at the Bohemian Cemetery near Odessa on Memorial Day 2014.

Remembrances may be made in his wife's name to Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure or CaringBridge, the website which was used to post Ric's three-month journey of life with cancer.
