Beatrice Kaye (Zeiler) Lyon

Bea Lyon died Saturday, January 4, 2014, in Spokane.

She was born in Spokane January 16, 1948, to Edward and Elsie (Heimbigner) Zeiler.

She spent her early years on a wheat farm a few miles northeast of Odessa. She enjoyed riding horses and having many dogs and cats as pets. Bea attended Odessa schools, graduating in 1966.

Bea attended Kelsey Baird Business and Secretarial School. In 1968 she married William Lyon. The couple lived for a short time in Tekoa, before returning to Spokane, where they made their home.

Later, Beatrice attended Spokane Falls Community College majoring in social sciences. She would subsequently be involved in the social work field, caring for a number of elderly people.

Bea is survived by her longtime friend, Harold Craig of Spokane; one aunt, Elaine Zeiler of Kennewick; and numerous cousins.

Beatrice was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish. A graveside service will be held Friday, January 10, at 11:30 a.m. at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N. Government Way in Spokane, with Fr. Matthew Larsen officiating.
