Monday, Jan. 13: Davenport ambulance personnel responded to a medical emergency in the 100 block of Eleventh Street.

A caller observed a vehicle pulling a stock trailer loaded with cattle was being driven on a blown tire in the vicinity of Stockland Livestock Exchange in Davenport.

Davenport's Exxon convenience store reported receiving a check for insufficient funds.

A Davenport man reported the handle to a screen door in the 900 block of Maxwell Street had been broken off by someone attempting to gain entry.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Merriam Street in Davenport after a loud alarm sounded there. Its source was a Life Alert device its wearer had accidentally activated.

Tuesday, Jan. 14: A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on SR 25 about 10 miles north of Davenport.

Personnel at Sprague's Lutheran church alerted dispatchers about a man who acted strangely after coming inside and declining to take food he was offered.

An Almira man told dispatchers that a telephone solicitor responded with profanity when his sales pitch for Cialis was declined.

Reardan Police responded to a domestic dispute involving a woman and her mother in the 200 block of North Oak Street.

Wednesday, Jan. 15: Deputies were advised of a "suspicious" individual observed walking around Davenport's three banks on Morgan Street. He wore a black face mask pulled up to his eyes, baggie black pants and a black hoodie with the hood over his head.

A Davenport man reported strange footprints in fresh snow near the back door of a residence in the 700 block of Tenth Street and, more recently, found a bedroom window open and things moved around in the back yard.

A vehicle got stuck in a field adjacent to Janett Road just off SR 2 east of Davenport.

Liquor was reported stolen from the Sprague Chevron station.

A deputy responded to a possible verbal domestic dispute in the 700 block of Marshall Street in Davenport.

Thursday, Jan. 16: Damage was reported to a truck that ran over a pitbull-type dog in foggy conditions on SR 174 about five miles north of Wilbur. The driver told dispatchers he was unable to stop because of traffic and fog.

Returning from an errand, an Odessa woman reported that whoever left a pamphlet at her Irby Road residence may also have opened the door. She wasn't sure if the house had been entered.

Wilbur Police investigated three checks for insufficient funds used to pay for merchandise at the Wonder MiniMart.

Friday, Jan. 17: Electrical outages were reported in Wilbur, Reardan and Sprague.

Dispatchers were advised of a scheduled coyote hunt in the south county over the next two days.

A caller reported running into scrap metal in Lake Road near Sprague.

A man was arrested as deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the Davenport area.

Deputies responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the 300 block of SW C Street in Creston. A man was arrested after he allegedly damaged a vehicle.

Deputies became involved after a Davenport man told dispatchers he had ended a relationship with a woman who continued to come to his residence and was no longer welcome there.

Two vehicles hit the same deer on SR 28 south of Davenport.

Inland Power and Light Co. personnel repaired a downed line and a pole that had snapped off at the top along Omans Road about two miles east of Davenport.

After his wife reported him missing when he didn't return home as expected, a Teel Hill area resident was located unharmed.

Reardan Police responded to a report that a Reardan High School student brought an electronic cigarette to school in violation of tobacco rules.

Saturday, Jan. 18: Inland Power and Light Co. was advised of two poles leaning towards the roadway on Riffe Road near Old Williams Road. Other lines were reported down on Morrison Road.

A down power line sparked a small brush fire near the Davenport Gun Club and the county Public Works Building.

Rental property in the 200 block of Seventh Street in Davenport was reported vandalized.

A caller observed someone dumping a piano on U.S. Bureau of Land Management property along Lake Valley Loop Road in the Sprague area, then using it as a shooting target.

Reardan firefighters and Avista Utilities workers responded to a report of a transformer on fire at Tramm and Euclid roads.

Sunday, Jan. 19: Sprague ambulance personnel assisted a woman who fell while at the local rod and gun club.

A power line was reported down across SR 25 near Olson Hills Road about 5½ miles north of Davenport.

A caller told dispatchers he had been run off SR 28 near Davenport by a possibly drunken driver. The suspect vehicle was observed traveling south towards Harrington in the northbound lane.

Criminal Sentencings

Ryan Allen Neble, 27, of Everett, Wash., pleaded guilty Jan. 14 to felony harassment (amended through plea negotiations from making a false statement to a law enforcement officer and four counts of violating a protection order). He was accused of making harassing phone calls from the Lincoln County Jail while an inmate there on Nov. 11. He must serve 22 months imprisonment and pay $800 court costs. At the time of the incident, Neble was in jail after pleading guilty to fourth-degree assault and riot while armed charges in connection with a woman's claim last May that a man had placed his hands around her neck and threatened to smash her head on rocks and throw her into the water at Sterling Point campground near Lincoln.

Michael Lee Hileman, 38, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, pleaded guilty Dec. 10, 2013, to fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation (amended through plea negotiations from first-degree child molestation), and was sentenced Jan. 7 to 90 days electronic home monitoring, two years probation and participation in a sexual offender treatment program. He also must pay $700 court costs plus attorney fees. He was accused of "inappropriately touching" a 6-year-old girl in the Davenport area on Sept. 30, 2012.

Marni Allyn MacRae, 40, Davenport, pleaded guilty Jan. 7 to second-degree burglary (amended through plea negotiations from first-degree burglary, two counts of theft of a firearm, malicious mischief and second-degree theft). She must complete six months probation, serve 30 days jail or electronic home monitoring, and pay $628 in shared restitution (with Nehemiah J. "Nick" Covey) to the owner of property on Partridge Lane in the Hawk Creek area that was burglarized last July, along with $800 court costs. She was arrested in October after deputies responded to a domestic violence call and discovered her involvement with the summer burglary.

West Osten Haynes, 42, Medical Lake, is charged with three counts of unlawful possession of firearms in connection with a Dec. 31, 2013, traffic stop on SR 231.

New Civill Cases

US Bank seeks foreclosure of property at 31998 Hawk Creek Ranch Road, Davenport, for which it claims Lyle M. Gullard owes $129,249 on a $135,000 promissory note plus almost $31,000 interest through Nov. 22 of last year. Co-respondents include The Sherwin-Williams Co., State of Washington, Washington State Employment Security Department, and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.

Having completed his obligations to the Juvenile Court, William Grow petitioned the court for restoration of his firearms rights.

In an unlawful detainer matter filed against Thomas J. and Julie R. Bjornberg, petitioner Deutsche Bank National Trust Co. seeks possession of property at 620 East Spokane Avenue in Reardan purchased at a November 2013 foreclosure sale.
