Mariam Lenhart

Miriam Lenhart, age 87, of Odessa, Washington, passed away on January 20, 2014.

She was born in 1926 to William and Ida Wahl of Lind, and was raised on their family farm in the Ralston area. She graduated from Ritzville High School in 1944.

Miriam married Laurence Lenhart of Odessa in 1949. A daughter, Cheri, was born in 1950 and a son, Gary, in 1953. The family spent some years in California before returning to the Odessa area in 1967 to farm the Lenhart family land. Miriam and Laurence retired from farming in 1989 and moved into Odessa, where Miriam lived until her passing.

Miriam had a life-long passion for art, was an exceptional watercolor and acrylic painter, and a long-time member of the Odessa Palettes art club.

She is survived by her two children, her brother Milton, her sister Marie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no memorial services per Miriam’s request. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that any donations be made to the Odessa High School Arts Program in Miriam’s name.
