Titans lose double-header played at Cusick Saturday

Despite Brad Johnston’s three hits, the Titans lost to Cusick 9-7 in the first game of the double-header away on Saturday. He picked up two RBIs on singles in the first and sixth innings and a double in the seventh.

Chance Messer had one hit, one RBI, walked once and struck out once. He also had a stolen base. Carsen Weber had no hits but drew a walk and had two RBIs in three at bats. Nathyn Winslow struck out once in three at bats but was hit by a pitch to get on base. He also scored a stolen base. Colton Hunt drew a walk, was hit by a pitch and struck out once.

In three at bats, Dakota Largent got one run on one hit, one walk and one strikeout. He also had a stolen base. Alex Hernandez scored a run on a walk and a strikeout in his three at bats. Dillon Dennison scored a run after being hit by a pitch to get on base. He also struck out once. Caleb Behrens drew two walks and struck out once.

Johnston was the starting pitcher for the Titans, going all the way. He threw 108 pitches, 67 of them strikes. He allowed 9 runs on 11 hits, walked two batters and struck out six.

In the second game, the Titans had eight hits but only two runs, losing 9-2.

Weber went 2-4 at bat, pounding an RBI triple in the fifth inning. He struck out once. Johnston had one run on two hits and struck out once. Messer hit an RBI single in the fifth. Winslow struck out once in three trips to the plate. Largent got a hit, reached base on an error and struck out once. He stole one base and was picked off during another attempt. Hernandez struck out once. Jayd Jennings got a hit and struck out once. Behrens got one hit and struck out twice. Jacob Montgomery struck out twice in three at bats.

Weber was the pitcher in game 2, allowing 9 runs on 10 hits and giving up 4 walks. He struck out 4. In six innings he threw 94 pitches, 55 of them strikes.
