Monday, July 7: Davenport ambulance personnel transported a jail inmate to Lincoln Hospital after she suffered a seizure. She later was returned to Adams County authorities.

A fence at the AT&T site on Mcabee Road near Sprague was cut.

A moose with a broken leg was reported on SR 28 south of Harrington.

Someone knocked over and shot a stop sign at the intersection of SR 174 and Bagdad Road north of Wilbur.

A caller reported a rabid raccoon in a tree in the 1100 block of Twelfth Street in Davenport.

Dispatchers learned of threatening comments allegedly made by a Davenport resident to another man.

After returning home and finding her cat dead, a Davenport woman reported losing nine cats in the "recent past."

A caller advised three to four "drunk and disorderly people" were trespassing on property adjacent to SR 231 north of Reardan.

Wilbur Police investigated vandalism at the women's restroom at the town park. It appeared that fireworks were placed inside pipes, damaging toilets.

A Wilbur man reported the theft of about 50 gallons of fuel from a U-Haul truck parked in the 10 block of NW Main.

Tuesday, July 8: A shotgun was reported stolen during a burglary of a Mill Canyon residence.

Deputies investigated a possible sex offense in the Harrington area.

Prescription medications and a hunting knife were reported stolen during a burglary at a residence on SR 25 north of Davenport.

Deputies investigated a reported sex offense in the Almira area. The 4-year-old alleged victim was treated at Coulee Community Hospital before being transported to a Spokane hospital.

A caller reported loud music coming from the residential area south of the post office in Harrington.

Wednesday, July 9: A 71-year-old man may have suffered a broken rib after falling down stairs at a residence on Oehschlager Road near Reardan.

A towing company crew helped free a county Public Works truck that got stuck while turning around on Harrington Tokio Road at the county line.

A Davenport man's $600 saw was reported lost on the Miles Creston Road.

A man was observed rummaging through a trash bin at the Lincoln County Care and Share facility in Davenport.

A vehicle sustained about $4,000 damage after a collision with a deer on SR 2 east of Davenport.

Thursday, July 10: A boat trailer was damaged as a result of a hit-and-run collision at the Lincoln boat ramp.

An Edwall woman reported a scam involving the IRS.

Several goats were reported in the roadway on Hawk Creek Ranch Road north of Davenport.

Deputies investigated a harassment incident involving family members at a Hawk Creek residence.

Odessa Police investigated malicious mischief at a motel in the 600 block of East 1st Avenue.

Friday, July 11: A caller reported seeing a man lying on the side of SR 2 near Wilbur. A responding deputy, learning he was hitchhiking to Spokane, gave him a courtesy ride to a rest stop so he could get into the shade and have liquids.

A Creston woman reported two "strange" women in a van showed up at her Watson Road residence claiming they were from Spokane and sent out to check her horses.

Firefighters responded to a fire adjacent to Doerschlag Road about two miles east of Harrington Tokio Road.

Deputies dealt with an unwanted person at a Reardan residence.

Deputies intervened in a verbal dispute involving a Reardan woman and her son, described as "verbally assaultive" toward her.

Deputies stopped two vehicles for racing on SR 2 near Davenport.

Deputies advised individuals at a paintball facility on SR 231 north of Reardan that campfires they had set were in violation of the burn ban.

Wilbur Police responded to the theft of a pickup truck and credit cards from a residence in the 200 block of SE Milmont.

Saturday, July 12: Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a 53-year-old woman experiencing chest pains.

A Davenport woman told dispatchers that a man she hired "was not following through with his work" and she wanted to speak with a deputy about it.

Deputies intervened in a verbal dispute at a residence on Fifth Street in Davenport that was loud enough to be heard outside the sheriff's office.

Deputies handled a disruptive woman at the Alibi in Wilbur.

Dispatchers took a loud music complaint involving a residence in the 400 block of 1st Street in Sprague.

Deputies were called in after a report of two men fighting at the I-90 Sprague rest area. One was arrested on a warrant from Pomeroy.

Sunday, July 13: A Davenport ambulance needed a tow after breaking down at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

A blue sports car with red and blue lights similar to those of a patrol vehicle was reportedly attempting to pull over vehicles on SR 25 about 10 miles north of Davenport. Deputies eventually stopped the suspect vehicle and its juvenile driver, starting up a criminal impersonation case.

An Edwall woman reported her wallet missing from a residence on Oregon Road.

A Harrington man reported that someone entered his garage in the 300 block of North 1st Street and turned on a propane tank.

A woman and man were arrested after deputies responded to a domestic dispute at Fishtrap Lake Resort.

Davenport firefighters responded to a power line and/or pole on fire on Hawk Creek Road North.

A collision involving a deer and a county patrol vehicle took place on SR 231 a mile south of its intersection with SR 2. No damage was reported.

A responding deputy issued a warning to individuals setting off fireworks in the vicinity of Ninth and Washington streets in Davenport.

Criminal Sentencing

Matthew Glen Low, 25, pleaded guilty July 8 to taking a motor vehicle without the owner's permission and driving while license suspended. As a result of plea negotiations, charges of possessing a stolen vehicle and second-degree possession of stolen property were withdrawn by the prosecutor. He must serve 25 months in prison, consecutive with another 25 months imposed by Grant County, pay $800 court costs, attorney fees to be determined and restitution that will cover all of the original charges. He is prohibited from possessing firearms and his driver's license was revoked. His criminal record includes 11 charges since 2003 in Grant County mainly involving theft, burglary and possession of stolen property. The most recent charges are connected with the taking of three vehicles and tools from a shop building on SR 23 about a half-mile west of Schirr Road near Sprague last September.

Civil Judgments

Christopher R. Williams was awarded a default judgment against William and Tracy Gallant on July 1, ordering the return of premises at 807 Marshall Street in Davenport, along with $3,500 in rent, $750 attorney fees and $438 for other costs.

The court restored Sprague petitioner Timothy R. Wilken's right to possess firearms.
