T. Wehr ranked Superior Presenter at AZ conference

Thorsen Wehr, a student at Odessa High School, was ranked as a top presenter November 8 in the 2014 International Research Conference. The conference was held November 7-9 in Glendale, Arizona, by Sigma Xi, the international honor society for scientists and engineers.

More than 100 high school, undergraduate, and graduate students from across the country and abroad presented their research at this conference and Thorsen was one of 24 to be ranked as a Superior Presenter. His research was titled "Focusing and Analyzing Sound Waves with Varying Nonlinearity." He was also the only student participating from the state of Washington.

Thorsen received a certificate and a medal. Other superior presenters were nominated to join Sigma Xi, but Thorsen is already a member of the Society. For more information, please visit https://www.sigmaxi.org/news/article/2014/11/10/student-winners-announced-in-international-research-conference.
