Odessa Historical Society elects officers, publicizes Elmer photos

Members of the Odessa Historical Society met last week to vote on the two officers who were up for re-election this year. Pat Gies was re-elected vice president and Judy Scrupps was re-elected treasurer.

President Paul Scheller announced that George Beck’s collection of Joshua Elmer photographs was recently added to the website www.washingtonruralheritage.org/Odessa. Elmer was a professional photographer who made Odessa his home during the initial years of the town’s existence. Included in those photos were several depicting the “Great Marlin Fire.”...
