Titan boys win first District round, lose second game

The Titan boys won their first District playoff game in Cusick last week Wednesday, February 11, by a close score of 54-52.

Sam Schafer was fired up, leading the Titan offense with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals. Shane Whitaker had 13 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals. Colton Hunt and Carsen Weber each had 9 points, with Hunt contributing 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and Weber 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. Colt Sanford had 6 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals. DeWulf had 2 points, 5 rebounds. Dakota Largent scored 1 point. Steven Braun also played but did not score.

With O-H only one point behind near the end of the fourth quarter, Schafer got a bucket to put the Titans ahead with only three seconds remaining. The Titans shot a free-throw for the final point, and Cusick was unable to put up another shot prior to the final buzzer.

On Saturday, February 14, at Deer Park High School, the Titans faced Almira/Coulee-Hartline in another close game, losing 43-46.

Whitaker led the offense with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist. Weber followed with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals; Schafer with 9 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal; Hunt 3 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist; DeWulf 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals. Sanford and Largent did not score, but Sanford pulled down 2 rebounds. Braun was out of the action

O-H faced Selkirk Wednesday at Deer Park High School.
