Wehr and Lesser selected as delegates to symposium

Only 16 students were selected by Washington state to be delegates at the 52nd Washington Junior Science and Humanities Symposium. This year, Odessa senior Thorsen Wehr and junior Stacia Lesser were selected by Dr. Ray Myers and the Symposium to be delegates at the Washington Junior Science and Humanities Symposium.

Both students were outstanding in presenting their projects and earned the following recognition and awards:

Thorsen Wehr - "The Generation and Analysis of Waves with Varying Nonlinearity through a One-Dimensional Chain of Spheres."

- Washington State Junior Science & Humanities Oral Presentation Finalist Award, ribbon

- Washington State Junior Science & Humanities Outstanding Research Award, certificate

Stacia Lesser – "Transgene Interleukin-37b Aiding Memory Consolidation Due to Sleep Disruption"

- Second Place Overall Washington State Junior Science & Humanities Poster Finalist Award, ribbon

- Washington State Junior Science & Humanities Outstanding Research Award, certificate

Both ASR students were selected for the Symposium after preparing and submitting a written report in accordance with the symposium's guidelines. All of the presentations were of very high quality, and the judges had a difficult time selecting the overall winners
