Melissa D. (Weishaar) Ray

Melissa D. (Weishaar) Ray passed away suddenly in Thomaston, Georgia.

She is survived by her son Bobby Ray of Atlanta, Ga., her father Warren Weishaar, her brother Mike Weishaar and her sister Terrea Weishaar.

Melissa is preceded in death by her mother Susan and her brother John.

Melissa was born November 17, 1957 in Odessa to Warren and Susan Weishaar. The family lived in Oregon for several years before settling west of Davenport. She attended school in Davenport, where she graduated in 1976. She later attended cosmetology school at Spokane Community College and worked in Spokane for several years before joining the Transportation Security Administration at Spokane International Airport where she worked until her health forced her to retire.

She moved to Reno, Nev. for a short time before moving back to Davenport and then on to Georgia to be closer to her son. Melissa loved poetry and was a great artist and loved to draw. She also had a strong faith in the Lord.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, with Rev. Louis Claassen, officiating.
