INCIDENT LOG Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column. Monday, June 15: A horse ran loose in the 900 block of SW Alder in Wilbur. Firefighters battled a blaze adjacent to the Egypt Loop Road north of Davenport. Davenport ambulance personnel assisted an elderly man who fell inside a residence in the 300 block of Sinclair Street. Sprague municipal personnel requested assistance after learning someone is trapping cats and leaving them for several days.

Deputies checked out two possibly illegal marijuana grows in the Edwall and Underwood Canyon areas. A deputy reported his patrol car was involved in a collision with an elk near the intersection of SR 231 and Sobek Road. Tuesday, June 16: Dispatchers assisted a caller who believed a prowler (or wildlife) was outside her residence in the vicinity of Stagecoach Lane. Responding to the 900 block of Maxwell Street, Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a 64-year-old woman who had fallen and was unresponsive. Later, they tended to a 60-year-old man who fell from a lift at Davenport Middle School. A gallon jar filled with change intended for an orphanage in Africa was reported stolen from the Davenport Methodist Church. Deputies checked out a possibly illegal fire pit in the 700 block of Marshall Street in Davenport. County Public Works personnel reported a section of roadway was damaged by farm implements and a fertilizer truck entering Mohler Road from a field about 1½ miles west of Harrington Tokio Road. A semi-truck hauling grain went off a bridge at Kiner and Pfeifer roads and rolled over. The driver was examined at the Odessa hospital. Deputies responded to a harassment incident involving two individuals at a residence in the Sprague area. Railroad crossing arms were reported down on SR 231 and Aspen Street in Reardan. Wednesday, June 17: Responding to the 400 block of South Division, Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a man having breathing difficulties. Deputies investigated a possible incident of mail theft involving residents on Coal Springs Road near Harrington. A Wilbur man reported signs of an attempted break-in at a shed in the 500 block of SW Richmond. A caller told dispatchers someone keyed his car – down to the bare metal in some places – while it was parked at a Mill Canyon Road residence. Deputies found nothing amiss at a residence in the 800 block of Anne Street in Wilbur after responding to a report that a woman was being attacked. A forced entry was discovered at Strate Funeral Home in Wilbur, where deputies found stereo equipment moved to a location that would make it easier to retrieve when the burglar returned. A collision involving a vehicle and deer was reported on SR 28 about a half mile west of Harrington. Reardan Police investigated a collision involving a sports utility vehicle that struck a parked vehicle and a light pole near the intersection of Broadway Avenue (U.S. 2) and Aspen Street. Thursday, June 18: Responding to the 100 block of NW Anderson, Creston ambulance personnel assisted a 72-year-old woman who had fallen. Deputies investigated a theft report originating from Davenport High School. A deputy stopped a pickup truck and horse trailer after its driver was observed talking on a phone and having poor lane travel on SR 28 near Fitness Lane in Davenport. After Almira emergency and Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a 71-year-old man who suffered a seizure, MedStar aerial ambulance transported him from Wilbur to a Spokane hospital. Deputies assisted Spokane County authorities in notifying an Edwall man that his wife was in a Spokane hospital being treated for alcohol poisoning after being transported there from Northern Quest Casino in Airway Heights. A Davenport caller told dispatchers he had received threatening text messages. A Airway Heights woman advised her cell phone was stolen while shopping at Wal-Mart and that its tracking device placed it to a Davenport location. A van was reported in a ditch near Sunglow Lane and Spring Canyon Road. Friday, June 19: A responding deputy was unable to determine whether an Almira woman actually heard a gunshot and a scream in the 100 block of North 5th. What started as a possible intoxicated driver report was determined by a deputy to be an incident of texting while driving on U.S. 2 just east of Wilbur.

A Sprague man advised that two tires were slashed on a vehicle parked in the 300 block of South E Street. A Harrington woman told dispatchers she had paid someone $75 two weeks previously for yard work that had yet to be completed. A dog fell from a vehicle at Morgan and Third Streets in Davenport, suffering minor injuries. A continuously erratic driver was observed traveling at high speed and spinning tires throughout the Harrington city limits. A caller reported a vehicle speeding near Davenport High School. Odessa Police investigated a resident’s claim that a cell phone company opened an account in his name without his consent. A pontoon boat operator advised National Park Service personnel of his discovery of an unoccupied ski boat floating on the river near Hawk Creek and Seven Bays Marina. Saturday, June 20: Sprague firefighters responded to a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train engine ablaze at the Lake Valley Loop Road. Glass was found broken on a fuel pump at the Davenport airport. Medication and money were missing from two trucks that had been broken into while parked on property adjacent to SR 231 North in the Reardan area. A trailer separated from the truck that was pulling it on U.S. 2 west of Reardan. An Edwall woman said she was threatened by a man she had told was no longer permitted to be on her property. A Seven Bays woman requested assistance after she failed to persuade someone to stop playing rap music at loud volumes in her neighborhood. After a caller reported a vehicle throwing sparks as it traveled through Davenport, a responding deputy stopped it about a mile east of the city limits on U.S. 2. Reardan Police responded to a caller’s complaint of loud music interrupting TV viewing and sleep in the 300 block of East Columbia. Sunday, June 21: Young occupants of a vehicle traveling on SR 25 about 19 miles north of Davenport were cited for illegal possession of fireworks. While at the Davenport city park, a 16-year-old girl taking care of a 4-year-old girl reported being approached by a man on a motorcycle who asked her “strange questions.” A vehicle with two young men inside was observed being driven in a reckless manner in a church parking lot in the 400 block of SE Trinity in Wilbur. A vehicle nearly hit a loose horse on the roadway at Hallett and Waukon roads. National Park Service personnel investigated an incident of malicious mischief involving a vehicle parked at Spring Canyon campground. JAIL BOOKINGSJune 16: John S. Jensen, 48, Spokane, arrested by LCSO for failing to appear for driving while license suspended. Briana J. Stuart, 36, Kalispell, Mont., arrested by Washington State Patrol for failing to appear for driving under the influence and making a false statement to law enforcement. June 18: Timothy P.
