Second Annual Academic Awards

The second annual all-school academic assembly was January 29 in the school multipurpose room. Principal Jamie Nelson welcomed the students and staff members before turning the program over to moderators Katie DeWulf and Chance Messer.

Zoe Clark introduced the high school students who achieved academic excellence (a 4.0 grade-point average). A certificate and gold pin were awarded to Stacia Lesser, Molly Schafer, Rebecca Fortner, Elizabeth Larson, Hannah Sheldon, Tori Weishaar and Megan Shafer.

Students on the high honor roll (3.75-3.99 GPA) received a certificate and silver pin: Katie DeWulf, Wyatt Haase, Colby Sooy, Chance Messer, John DeWulf, Brad Johnston, Danielle Tebow, Colton Hunt and Zoe Clark.

Honor roll (3.5-3.74 GPA) students received a certificate and bronze pin: Casey Schlomer, Alexis Schmierer, Hunter Bramer, Keisha McNeil, Lukas Marshall, Jayd Jennings, Kiegan Wehr, Noah Anderson and Rochelle Schuh

At the junior high level, certificates only were awarded.Achieving academic excellence (4.0) was Ireland Luiten. High honor roll (3.75-3.99) students were: Eric Johnston, Ryan Moffet, Camden Weber, Maddy Wagner, Jett Nelson, Pilot Weishaar, Keith Strebeck, Kaya Curo and Maddie Scrupps. Honor roll (3.5-3.74) students were: Jaden Hunt,Caitlyn Schuh, Mya Boss, Marcus King, Joshua Clark, McKennah Davison, Colton Messer, Tim DeWulf, Nicholas Larson and Darrion Carter.

Alexis Schmierer presented the outstanding English awards.

In Kindergarten, Outstanding Achievement in Writing went to Claire Squire. The Keen Reader Award went to Ryder Gilmartin.

First Grade: The Great Writer Award went to both Katie Mae Shelton and Leah Beth Claassen. The Great Reader Award went to Haydn Reynolds and Brandon Nelson.

Second Grade: The Keen Reader Award went to Devin Nelson and Alyx Scheller. The Super Writer Award went to Sophia Squire.

Third Grade: The Top Reader with Speed was Holden Iverson. The Best Writer Award went to MacKenzie Lutz.

Fourth Grade: The STAR Reading Award went to Zachary Claassen and Destiny Wiles.

Fifth Grade: The Outstanding Achievement in Reading went to Yvette Davey and Laela Hardung. The Outstanding Achievement in Writing award went to Trenidee Zyph and Kaytlyn Shafer

Sixth Grade: The Most Words Read Award went to Nicklas Nelson.

Seventh Grade: The Most Words Read Award went to Maddie Scrupps.

Eighth Grade: The Outstanding Reading Award went to McKennah Davison.

Ninth Grade: The Outstanding Reading Award went to Noah Anderson.

First Grade: The Super Science Award went to Caleb Frick and Ady Scheckel

Third Grade: The Science Superstar Award went to Corbyn Neilsen.

Fourth Grade: The STAR Student in Science Award went to Tyesn Kuchenbuch and Melloney Deife.

Fifth Grade: The Outstanding Achievement in Science Award went to Ashlyn Neilsen and Grace Nelson.

Sixth Grade: The Life Science Award went to Nathan Carstensen and Charleigh Cornett.

Seventh Grade: The Physical Science award went to Keith Strebeck and Pilot Weishaar.

Eighth Grade: The Earth Science Award went to Eric Johnston and Ireland Luiten.

Ninth Grade: The Outstanding Physics and Engineering Award went to Tori Weishaar.

Tenth Grade: The Outstanding Biology Student Award went to Kiegan Wehr

Eleventh Grade: The Outstanding Chemistry Student Award went to Elizabeth Larson. The Outstanding Computer Science Student was Colby Sooy.

Twelfth Grade: The Outstanding Physics Student was Stacia Lesser. The Outstanding Advanced STEM Researcher Award went to Stacia Lesser.

Combination English and Social Studies Award was given by teachers Larry Moffet and Laura Caler. The Historical Novel Project Award went to Stacia Lesser, Rochelle Schuh and Cole Kissler.
