Golf

The Titan golf team had matches on Monday, March 21, Thursday, March 24 and again on Tuesday, March 29.

In the March 21 match against Colfax, William Mann led the Titans with 49, followed by John Tanke 52, Colt Sanford 56, Caleb Behrens 65, Derek Montgomery 68 and James Mann 70.

The March 24 match against St. John-Endicott had William Mann again the top Titan golfer with 50, with John Tanke at 60, Caleb Behrens 64 and Derek Montgomery 85.

On March 29, a tournament pitted the Titans against Kettle Falls, Tekoa-Rosalia and Northwest Christian. The Titans had a team total of 289. John Tanke led the Titan team with 51, followed by William Mann 54, Colt Sanford 57, Caleb Behrens 61 and Derek Montgomery 66.

Northwest Christian Won the match with 241, with the Titans second, Tekoa-Rosalia third with 316 and Kettle Falls fourth with 355.

Tennis

The Titan tennis team had an away match against Reardan on Tuesday, March 29.

In girls singles, the Titans were two for three, as Katie DeWulf defeated Patty Murphy 6-0, 6-0, Danielle Tebow defeated Gabby Lee 6-3, 6-4 and Stacia Lesser lost to Sarah Kemmerer 6-0, 6-4.

In doubles, Jauteia Hamel and Jayna Lehman defeated Jordan Larmer and Alex Bruce in a close contest 7-5, 6-4, and Brittany Saber and Maddee Blackford defeated Stormy Stiles and Evie Mann 7-5, 6-2.

Evan Gonzales and Bryce Brown each lost a pro set 8-1, 8-3.

Track & Field

Odessa-Harrington's track and field team spent April Fools' Day at the Deer Park Invitational, with the boys competing against 24 other teams and the girls against 23 other 1B, 2B and 1A teams, including Deer Park, Colville, Medical Lake, Garfield-Palouse, Connell, Freeman, St. George's, NW Christian (Colbert), Valley Christian, Riverside, Logos, Lakeside (Nine Mile), Chewelah, Lind-Ritzville, Kettle Falls, Northport, Liberty (Spangle), Oakesdale, Oroville, Newport, Mary Walker, Stillwater Christian, Selkirk, Reardan, L.V. Rogers and Priest River Lamanna.

For the boys, OH placed 13th as a team, while Deer Park, Colville and Medical Lake took the top three places. For the girls, OH finished in 11th place, while Freeman, Deer Park and Colville nabbed the top three spots.

OH had participants entered in 36 events. Larger schools such as Freeman and Colville each had more than 140 entrants.

OH sophomore Gaven Elder placed sixth in both the 100-meter and 200-meter events, with times of 11.74 and 24.50 seconds, respectively. He also placed 10th in the long jump at 18-08.00 and seventh as a member of the 4x100 relay team with Cole Kissler, Colby Sooy and Aaron Gies. Their time was 48.31 seconds.

Kissler came in 42nd in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:46.24 and was 25th in javalin at a distance of 108-01.

Colton Melgren was 48th in the 1600 meters at 5:55.24, 53rd in the discus at 68-03 and 44th in javelin at 98-09.

Aaron Gies placed seventh in the 110-m hurdles with a time of 17.54 and second in the 300-m hurdles with a time of 43.49.

Colby Sooy was 18th in the shot put at 36-00.75, 8th in discus at 117-07 and 15th in the javelin at 122.09.

For the girls, Amber Smith placed 35th in the 200 meters, 18th in the 100-m hurdles in 21:23, 10th in the 300-m hurdles in 59.63 and 13th in the triple jump at 26-10.00.

Sarina Goetz placed 7th in shot put at 31-08.00, 39th in the discus at 56-10 and 25th in the javelin at 60-03.

Destiny German was eighth in the shot put at 36-06.00, 37th in the discus at 58-03 and 32nd in the javelin at 55-09.

Casey Schlomer took sixth in the discus at 99-11, second in the javelin at 100-00 and 12th in the pole vault at 6-06.00.

Lanessa Simon placed ninth in the high jump at 4-08.00, second in the pole vault at 8-00.00, third in the long jump at 15-07.50 and fourth in the triple jump at 33-00.50.

Chance Messer was the starting pitcher for the Titan baseball team in the first game of the March 29 doubleheader aginst Republic. Colton Hunt relieved Messer in the third and was relieved in the fifth by Theron Schlomer. Catching duties were handled by Brad Johnston until the third inning when Jayd Jennings took over.

Marcus King and Johnston each got a hit in the 16-4 loss for the Titans.

The second game of the doubleheader was also a lopsided victory for the Republic Tigers, 10-0. Starting pitcher Brad Johnston was relieved by Camden Weber in the fourth inning. Messer was the catcher for all five innings played.

Against Curlew last Saturday, April 2, the Titans posted two more wins in another doubleheader. Weber pitched the entire game and Jennings was the catcher. The Titans prevailed, 6-5.

Jennings had a good day at bat, pounding out three singles. Johnston and Hunt also each had a single, and Schlomer, Joshua Clark and King had two singles apiece. Johnston added a double.

In game two, the Titans came out swinging, scoring a whopping eight points in the first inning and another three in the second.

Jennings at catcher handled the entire five innings for winning pitcher Johnston, who found his groove and threw a no-hitter.

Jennings, Johnston, Colton Hunt and Jaden Hunt each got a single in the game, while Schlomer, Clark and King each had two singles. Colton Hunt added a double.
