Last Friday at home in Odessa, the Titans played the Inchelium Hornets, winning 60-14 in a contest that was much closer than the score would indicate. With quarterback Colton Hunt sidelined with a sprained ankle, freshman backup QB Camden Weber did a credible job of guiding the offense. After some beginning butterflies, he settled down and let his fleet-footed running backs have their chances with the ball.

The Hornets marched down the field after receiving the opening kickoff and scored, following up with a two-point conversion. The ensuing drive by the Titans ended with them having to punt to the Hornets.

The Titans managed to score twice in the first quarter, first on a 26-yard pass play from Weber to Joshua Clark. Weber’s followup pass to Gaven Elder was good for the extra two points.

G. Elder ran 19 yards for the second TD of the quarter for O-H, but the extra-point attempt was no good.

In the second quarter, Weber kept the ball and scampered seven yards for the TD. Again, the extra-point attempt failed. The final score of the half was on an 18-yard run by Sage Elder, who then also caught Weber’s pass for the two-point conversion. At the half, the score was 28-8.

After halftime, S. Elder scored again on a six-yard pass play and repeated the feat for the two-point conversion. The rest of the quarter was a back-and-forth defensive contest.

In the final quarter, G. Elder broke away for a 72-yard run to the goal line. Clark caught a pass from Weber for the extra two points.

Inchelium got its final score of the game on a 49-yard pass play but was unable to convert for any extra points.

The Titans went on to score two more TDs as S. Elder scored from one yard out, then caught a Weber pass for the two-point conversion. The final score came on a 36o-yard run by S. Elder, with G. Elder running across the goal line for the extra two points.

Following that win, the Titans will play again Friday, November 11, facing Entiat in Odessa at 7 p.m. at Finney Field.
