FFA trap shooting teams do well at area contests

The Odessa FFA trap shooting team of Colton Melgren, Kiegan Wehr, Aaron Gies and Patrick Valverde got first place at the Warden shoot on October 21.

It is that time of the season when the leaves start falling and the clay pigeons start flying. It is the season for the local Odessa FFA Trapshooting team to start shooting. The first FFA Trap Shoot was held at the Odessa Gun Club and pitted Odessa against Warden on October 1, 2016. The Odessa FFA trapshooters dominated with Pilot Weishaar, Lane Lobe, Aaron Gies and Kiegan Wehr winning first place as a team. At the same time, Aaron Gies won the High Male award and Rochelle Paszkeicz-Schuh won the Second-High Female award.


On October 21, 2016, at the Warden Shoot, the team of Colton Melgren, Kiegan Wehr, Aaron Gies and Patrick Valverde got first place. Gies was in second place in the High Individual contest, and Colton Melgren placed. Jordan Larmer placed second in the High Female contest.

On November 5, 2016, the Lind-Ritzville shoot was hosted by the Ritzville Gun Club. The team of Lane Lobe, Pilot Weishaar, Kiegan Wehr, Aaron Gies and Colton Melgren took second place. Lane Lobe won the third-place High Individual award.
