Titan girls get first win of basketball season

The Titan girls basketball varsity lost to Valley Christian in a game played in Harrington Friday, December 16.

The final score was 45-20 in favor of VC.

Freshman Maddy Wagner had seven points to the team's scoring effort. Tash Sheldon added five points, Brenna Carstensen, Maleah Davison and McKennah Davison had two points each and Amber Smith and Caitlyn Schuh had one point each for the Titan offense.

Wagner also led the team's defensive effort by grabbing five rebounds. Smith, Alayna Watkins and Ma. Davison contributed four rebounds each, Mc. Davison and Sheldon had three each and Schuh had two.

Play was pretty sloppy at times, with the Titans committing a whopping 31 turnovers.

Columbia (Hunters)

On December 17, the Titan girls got their first win of the 2016-17 season, defeating Columbia by a score of 46-25.

Maddy Wagner and Maleah Davison each had nine points to pace the Titan offense. Caitlyn Schuh added eight points and Mc. Davison seven.

Defensively, Ma. Davison was strong under the boards, pulling down 11 rebounds, with Schuh adding nine and Wagner eight.

The team was able to cut their turnovers in half in this game, which helped them greatly in getting the win.

No stats were provided to the newspaper for the ACH game of December 13.
