Maddy Wagner and Noah Anderson stir together ingredients for one of the meals being prepared for Odessa senior citizens by the FBLA chapter at the high school.

It was recently shared with the Odessa High School FBLA chapter that there was a need to provide some of the senior citizens in our community with home-cooked meals. Many were finding it difficult to prepare meals due to the difficulty of leaving their homes in the icy weather conditions or for health reasons, due to having no or limited cooking skills or because budgets were tight. FBLA members took action and cooked 500 freezer meals to be delivered in the near future to help resolve the problem. Members worked with Barbara Walter, senior meals coordinator here in town, and with two local churches to locate those in need of assistance.

Eric Johnston, Noah Anderson, Brad Johnston, Chance Messer, Caitlyn Schuh and Tori Weishaar assemble the meals prior to freezing.
