INCIDENT LOG

Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Monday, March 6: Deputies investigated a machine shop burglary on Corbett Draw Road in the Almira area. Three sheets of plywood were reported missing.

Someone stole a trailer hitch valued at about $200 from a pickup truck parked outside a residence in the 800 block of Merriam Street in Davenport.

A dead calf was discovered on Fifth Street near the grain elevators in Davenport.

A Wilbur woman requested assistance with a continuously barking dog in the 100 block of SE Regent.

A semi-truck got stuck on Euclid Road north of Reardan and tore up the pavement as it attempted to back its way back to SR 231. “Severe” damage, estimated at a minimum of $400, was reported to the roadway and several private driveways. County Public Works made temporary repairs.

A man wearing a black weighted running vest caused an initial stir as he walked into the Davenport Subway, where patrons thought he may have had a pipe bomb strapped to his chest. After a deputy arrived, the man boarded the People for People shuttle bus.

Tuesday, March 7: County Public Works personnel were advised of a road sign that had been struck on Old Coulee Road about five miles south of Harrington.

A caller reported losing a cow from the back of a trailer traveling between Ritzville and Creston.

A vehicle slide-off was reported on U.S. 2 just west of the Lincoln/Spokane county line. Another took place at Miles Creston and Welch Creek roads.

A one-vehicle rollover collision was reported on Waukon Road near Edwall. Another took place on Wagner Lake Road near Wilbur, causing the vehicle to catch fire, with no injuries reported. After a third rollover occurred on U.S. 2 about two miles east of Davenport, an individual involved sought treatment at a hospital.

A Harrington woman reported a break-in at a residence in the 200 block of West Willis with several items missing.

A deputy assisted a man in an electric wheelchair who was having difficulty getting up the Seventh Street hill between Morgan Street and Davenport High School.

Wednesday, March 8: Winter road conditions forced a two-hour delay for classes at the Davenport schools.

A caller reported a possible incident of vehicle prowling in the 600 block of Tenth Street in Davenport.

A FedEx truck got stuck in a driveway in the vicinity of Hart and Teel Hill roads north of Davenport. A road sign got knocked over in the process.

Deputies investigated a possible trespassing incident on property adjacent to Sprague Lake Resort Road.

A vehicle got stuck in a field at Addington and Alexander roads near Reardan.

A Davenport woman and her children had to stay out of their house in the 300 block of Marshall Street after a plastic container was left inside a hot oven. Poison Control officials advised that law enforcement check to make sure it was safe to go inside.

A caller reported a car and pickup truck appeared to be speeding around Almira before heading to Wilbur on U.S. 2.

After the driver pulled her vehicle over to check on her child in the back seat, it got stuck in snow on Bagdad Road about a half-mile from SR 174 in the Grand Coulee area.

Thursday, March 9: Deputies assisted Reardan High School personnel with a 15-year-old boy who preferred to walk along U.S. 2 than to go with his mother to a counseling appointment or return to school. He was later located at the Airway Heights library.

A Wilbur woman took a phone call from someone who said they were “cleaning” her computer. She watched her screen while someone accessed her bank accounts, but contacted her bank as this was happening to freeze her accounts, keeping money from being taken.

A caller requested assistance in a property dispute involving residents on Harrington Tokio Road.

A Davenport woman told dispatchers four boys in a white car offered pot to her son, who was walking near the high school.

Friday, March 10: Responding to a residence on North 6th Street in Almira, Almira EMTs and Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted an 85-year-old woman with chest pains.

Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a 66-year-old woman who fell at Vista Manor.

Responding to the 200 block of West 2nd, Sprague firefighters helped a man who had climbed onto a roof to remove broken branches and got stuck.

A Davenport woman said someone backed into her vehicle, causing what a responding deputy determined to be a “scratch” to the bumper, in the vicinity of Sixth and Maxwell streets.

Odessa Police responded to a report that someone ripped down a section of fence in the 400 block of South Alder.

Saturday, March 11: A tree fell across SR 231 near Sprague and blocked traffic until state Department of Transportation personnel removed it.

After water was observed bubbling up through the roadway on Aspen at Poplar in Reardan, municipal personnel discovered a sewer lift pump had gone out.

Edwall EMTs were summoned to a residence on Moffatt Road after a woman in her 20s vomited blood during a heated exchange among occupants of the house.

Sunday, March 12: A Nigerian national faced possible deportation after deputies arrested him for domestic violence assault at a residence in the 600 block of West 4th Street in Sprague.

Trader’s Express personnel in Davenport expressed concern about an elderly man who appeared to have difficulty while trying to pump gas. A responding deputy asked that the man be evaluated by EMTs.

JAIL BOOKINGS

March 7: Kisha M. Munson, 26, Davenport, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for failing to appear for first-degree burglary.

March 8: Kyle L. Hurt, 22, Davenport, arrested by LCSO for failing to appear on a narcotics charge.

March 9: Nichol L. Dreier, 34, Spokane, confined 5 days by the court for driving while license suspended.

March 12: Mary V. Snedker, 48, Odessa, arrested by Odessa Police for failing to appear for fourth-degree assault and driving while license suspended in both Lincoln and Grant counties.

Kachi N. Anonyuo, 37, homeless, arrested by LCSO for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).

From March 7 to 9, two individuals were held in the Lincoln County Jail under contract with the Washington State Department of Corrections.
