Titans win 3 of 4 games to start 2017 season

Wilbur

On March 21 at Wilbur, the O-H Titans played their first baseball games of the season, a non-league double-header against Wilbur-Creston. The Titans managed a split decision, winning the first game and losing the second.

The Titans started off with four runs in the first inning and had a comfortable 11-4 lead going into the sixth inning. Wilbur-Creston pounded out seven runs in the sixth and added two more in the seventh before the Titans got the final out, stopping the Wildcats and winning 14-13.

The second game was won by W-C, 10-2. Chance Messer had three RBIs and Marcus King had two hits. Jayd Jennings was credited with two quality at bats.

Curlew

On March 25 against Curlew, the Titans recorded two lopsided wins.

Chance Messer threw a complete-game one-hit shutout as the Titans defeated Curlew 10-0 in five innings in the first game of a doubleheader in Odessa on March 23. The 10-run rule went into effect at the end of the fifth inning. Messer also got an extra base hit in the game.

Joshua Clark and Camden Weber combined to throw a no-hitter as O-H beat Curlew 10-0 in the second game of a league doubleheader on March 23.

This game also ended early based on the 10-run rule.

Theron Schlomer’s three hits included two doubles. Weber also had three hits.
